  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A British Monarch reminds the U.S. Congress of its duty to "checks and balances".....

“The Founding Fathers were bold and imaginative rebels with a cause. Two hundred and fifty years ago, or, as we say in the United Kingdom ‘just the other day,’ they declared Independence. By balancing contending forces and drawing strength in diversity, they united 13 disparate colonies to forge a nation on the revolutionary idea of ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.’ They carried with them, and carried forward, the great inheritance of the British Enlightenment – as well as the ideals which had an even deeper history in English common law and Magna Carta.

“These roots run deep, and they are still vital. Our Declaration of Rights of 1689 was not only the foundation of our constitutional monarchy, but also provided the source of so many of the principles reiterated, often verbatim, in the American Bill of Rights of 1791.

“And those roots go even further back in our history: the U.S. Supreme Court Historical Society has calculated that Magna Carta is cited in at least 160 Supreme Court cases since 1789, not least as the foundation of the principle that executive power is subject to checks and balances."

^_^ I love it.
No doubt King Charles had a grand chuckle at that.

President Trump plays his haters like a master.
Official statements from the White House should not be propaganda.

The content of his speech to congress indicates he's actually concerned about a growing excess of executive power in the USA.

Given the current state of GB, King Charles concern should be for his own nation.

President Trump is wading through years of congestion in the quagmire Leftist swamp monsters manifest as enemies of this nation.

When their excess managed to do this, excess to correct it is not unwarranted.

I only see a man drunk on power, scrawling his name over buildings and money, plastering his face on national park passes and passports, tearing down historic buildings and erecting monuments all in an effort to feign greatness.

I like threads like this.

It finally takes away the illusion that Republican voters are interested in competent leadership. They just want someone who makes their political enemies angry.

I am not a fan of internet trolls. FRankly, I find an existence based on contributing negativity to the world as lowly and pathetic. My opinion of those who take joy in that, really is no better.

People are giving up on a system of government and laws, and instead are putting their faith in the right individual showing up and claiming all the power they can.

They arent interesting in having a republic anymore.
