  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As Christians, do we have to go to church?

I understand we have to live it. So what is a holy convocation that he commanded us to keep?
Think of it as a government. The priests functioned in-house as administrators (govt) of Godly duties. Convocation days were set aside where the people were 'invited' to these governmental institutions to learn what had progressed in dealing with God and of course have more rules laid down that the people were expected to follow (remember Jesus accusing them of setting down rues but not following them themselves) and the reading of the Torah. Once a year this government would converse with God for any new instruction. This changed with Jesus as the veil was torn and now the people were free to converse with God on their own at any time, the middle man being eliminated. This along with scripture becoming available to the people plus sacrifices eliminated kind of disabled the Sanhedrin although the Gentiles who were known for lording their authourity over their inferiors saw this as a chance of setting up their own kingdoms in earth. Convocations were once mandatory on feasts and sabbaths but that meant the priestly government was required to open the doors to the public by invitation. Mandatory was on the heads of the priest, not the people.

What's the difference between a church and a synagogue?
A synagogue was an administrative government office whereas Jesus' church was a movement based upon truth from the Father, which the Gentiles turned into yet another government over man. So yes the difference once again became not truth from the Father and a way of life lived accordingly, but authourity over inferiors and where secular allegiance became mandatory to not only the gentile concept of church but also the secular governments they served. Today it is back to being by invitation with the institutions using other methods rather than aggression and oppression of old to draw the people in. problem today is people get drawn in by salesmen pushing their own product and the ways of the Kingdom are still lost.

What's the difference between a church and a synagogue?
A synagogue was a building in which Jews met for worship. In the bible, a church is not a physical building, but a group of Christian believers who meet together regularly to worship God, and seek to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. The word translated "church" in the bible is never used for a physical building of bricks.

Yes. Jesus differentiated between truth from man and truth from God when he asked the apostles who people, then they, said that He was. It meant a way of life (hence The Way) built upon truth from God. It did not mean what man made of it for it was their unreliable truth that built it and controls the narrative until this day..
