  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The LORD told me in prayer I would not make it into salvation

Hello,
I am a foreign Catholic man, exclusive from the United States.
I wish to seek for counsel among the wise.
More recently, I have begun to work in the prophetic realm together, also with the charismatic gift of speaking in tongues.
These mysteries have unfolded in conjunction with and in parallell with my earthly life.
I believe I am prophetic. Yet at the same time, I lack re-assurance of my salvation in the Kingdom of Heaven.
In prayer, I have heard from the LORD that I would be in Hell.
Yet my spirit remains hopeful despite the trials I have faced.
What is actually going on here? Is this another trial?
How can anyone have hope when there is reassurance of damnation?
At the same time I feel like a coward because the LORD Jesus told us to be absolutely fearless.
Please give advice.

I just remembered. When I was in Norway, there was a moment when I saw the LORD Jesus tell me I would be damned/go to Hell.
I told him I was willing to become a priest if this would put an end to my temptations and if he desired it.
Is this a temptation against faith?
I later on thought of this as just a temptation. But seeing the LORD Jesus there made me feel uncomfortable.
Maybe it was just a trial of sorts.

First and foremost, do you love Jesus Christ of Nazareth with all your heart , soul and mind? This is the unconditional agape love that He spoke about to Peter.

Be blessed.

.... I'd say that maybe you need to not concentrate on seeking after fabulous experiences as a confirmation of faith.

In other words, ignore the bad dreams you've been having and stick to focusing on the New Testament.

I must admit,
I lack in this love. Since I see him as my friend and spiritual leader, I am his friend. But since I am a man, and very romantic at that, I have a hard time relating to him some times. He knows it and has had mercy on me in the past.
But he has graced me with many gifts, that I am thankful to him for.
Please keep me in your prayers.

I will pray for your ability to discover agape love for Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Until then, anything you say or do on His behalf will be fruitless.

Be blessed.

Ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit today.

John 14:24
"He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me."

There are no assurances because we are saved through hope in God's mercy. Agape is on the cross being crucified in this world and forgiving his crucifiers. We have to do the same to show we understand what and who we believe in.

I was pretty sure you had OCD before checking your other posts to see if you motioned having it. All this you've written above screams OCD and whatever else might be accompanying it. Most likely your problem is more neurological than spiritual.

Hi, the bible says to test the spirits, if they are from God,
just by what you said, this is not from God,
first the 'prince of peace' it says would never terrorize someone like that.
He wants people to have hope, even the most evil person can change.
Second he is not aggressive or cheap, he is the most high kind and tender if you get close to him.

The enemy is telling lies to everyone all the time, don't listen to them.
if you want to get close to God, don't start with trying to have gifts,
seek God, trying to have communion with the Holy spirit. and reading and praying. And putting effort in prayer to quit sin and be free of any enemy influence.

i am unsure if i have discernment, but if i heard this, i would not believe that it were God speaking to me, but rather the one who has their grip on you, not wanting you to turn from sin. do not give up, as that is the only sure way to be told that you'll never enter the kingdom of Heaven.

How do you know it was Jesus who spoke to you? Did he look like pictures you've seen, or like the man in the shroud of turin, or like some icon of Jesus, or perhaps like the statuette on a crucifix? Anyone can say "Jesus said..."

But from what you said here, I have to conclude you are a false prophet, just by the sheer logic of what you said. You think you're a true prophet of God, and yet Jesus told you you're going to hell. That sounds like you're condemned, and thus your prophecies are not of God. The Bible says "there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus," so if you're condemned, you're not in Christ.

Secondly, your lack of faith puts doubt on your prophetic gift (if that's what it really is). Rom. 12 gives an example of someone with a real gift of prophecy, saying "according to his faith." But since your faith is lacking, how then can you be speaking prophecies according to your faith? Is your prophecy that you're going to hell then a true prophecy? Quite honestly, if you stood in front of me prophesying about my future, then based on what you're saying here I wouldn't believe anything you said.

The apostle Paul wrote that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, so why wouldn't he appear to you as Jesus himself to convince you to disobey the gospel of (the real) Jesus by disbelieving it? Paul wrote in 2 Thes. 1:7-8 "...the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus." Obeying the gospel means believing its message. If you believe you are going to hell because you were told, then you are not believing the gospel. The gospel of Christ says that if we believe in Jesus we have eternal life, according to John 5:24 and many other scriptures of the NT.

You are in desperate need of Biblical knowledge, to know who the only true God is and Jesus whom He sent. Paul wrote, "let the word of Christ richly dwell within you," and it says in Heb. 4:12 "For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." If you're not obeying the words of Jesus and His apostles (because you don't believe in Him), then "going to hell" is a distinct possibility.

I was once in your shoes to some extent, and according to certain statements in the NT and my own experience, getting to know God through His word is the way to assurance of salvation. My advice is to stop that "prophetic" nonsense and get familiar with scripture. There are no shortcuts in the Christian way of life, and those who seek them often fall into a pit.

please pray for me. I'm a sick man.
I'm in the mental hospital and about to lose my mind. If you are more skilled/perfected in faith i will gladly listen to you and subjugate my judgments to yours. If I am a false prophet, may God correct me and forgive me for speaking in his name.

There is forgiveness with God. He spoke to idolators when He said, "you will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart." There is also healing in His name. Peter wrote that Christ "bore our sins in his body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness, for by his wounds we are healed." It's talking about spiritual healing, but when we come into the rest that Jesus was talking about when he said, "come to me you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," it greatly helps the healing of our mind, because the Holy Spirit illumines us about who God is and who we are in relation to Him.

Therefore, it is very important for us to understand the nature of our relationship with God. Proverbs says, "in all your getting, get understanding." In my experience, it is only the Holy Spirit's illumination as we study to understand the scripture that brings us to the understanding we need. In the first part of my Christian life I experienced God as a tyrant who threatened to throw me in the lake of fire. I needed that at the time, because I had not been interested in submitting to Him. Later I found out about His unconditional love, and experienced the rest He was talking about. When we finally embrace the unmerited and unconditional grace that comes from God, it is a strong motivator to love Him and others.

By the way, I'm not looking for anyone to follow me, but I'm just trying to point you and others to Christ, to follow Him.

Now I pray to the Father that He will give you the Holy Spirit to illuminate your mind and give you understanding as you read the word of God. Father, You are the only one who really knows what is going on with this man, but I ask You to heal his mind, make his faith in You authentic, and destroy the what the devil has done in his life. Help him to experience your boundless grace, knowing that what Christ has done is complete for his redemption. Praised be Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.

Friend, I would not use visions or “prophetic guidance” as guides to anything if you have mental illnesses, especially schizophrenia. Schizo can very easily fake visions and tongues. Be on your guard for influence from the flesh and the devil.

Go back to Romans 10:9-11 for assurance of salvation.

I have CPTSD/ADHD, and while it’s probably not quite so bad as the schizo/OCD combo, I still have to trust what other people are telling me is real until I clear my symptoms out of whatever knowledge area I want to pursue. You need to trust what other people are saying, not what your broken intuition is telling you. This is the path to recovery.
