  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My workplace has recently put up a bunch of pride flags over the building and stuck stickers over the desk. If your employee did this what would you do.

Also how do you react when apps you use decorate the wholehomepage with prode flags? And how do you react when neighbours display pride flags outside their homes

Jesus Christ of Nazareth frequently ate with outcasts and sinners. He was condemned by the Pharisees.

Matthew 9:12 "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick."

Be blessed.

The same way I react when a co-worker puts crosses all over the place and plaques with verses.

Our government or government funded institutions need to be/stay neutral/secular in all matters, including endorsing the pride movement/stuff, along with endorsing certain religions or religious beliefs, or all religions, etc. But individual people, and some private individual organizations, still need to have their rights, etc. And it needs to be up to the courts as to where those lines should be drawn, or where we would all need to draw those lines, etc. But if you make it allowable for one, then it needs to be allowable for all that fall into that category, and if you make it not allowable, then we need to do the same, etc. It's for the courts to decide/work out ultimately, but it needs to be neutral/objective/fair/right/just for all either way, etc.

It has been the same for Christians since the rights revolutions of the mid 20th century. For example easy divorce came in around mid 1970's along with abortion, womens rights and the sexual revolution ie the pill and sex outside marriage ect.

This flooded society and Christians had to live with this all around them. The same with the promotion of porn, drugs, gambling, alcohol, partying lifestyles ect. All the things Paul mentions were actively being promoted for around 60 years now.

In recent times its even got to a point where the bible and Christian beliefs have been banned or attacked as God is being completely rejected from the public square.

So Pride flags and the promotion of Trans ideology is just the latest in a long line of counter Christian values that Christians have to live with.

Much like in the early church where the pagan Roman gods, goddesses and idols were all around the church.

I really think Christians have to go back to the seperation of church and State for their own good. Paul protected the church from the world coming in. It was a safe place to gather and be with like minded believers. Then we go out into the world and come back to the church.

Christ did hang with outcasts and sinners. But they had come to Him and repented and were no longer sinning in their past lifestyles. Though they were still seen as outcasts to the rest of society.

But unlike the ideology Christ was not celebrating the lifestyle. He was offering a new way of redemption. True life which is Good News.

I think theres a difference between a Christian welcoming outcasts to support their needs like food and shelter. This does not mean we support the lifestyle. Only that all humans deserve basic needs and love no matter who they are. This is the Good Samaritan.

Pay attention to Jesus, obey how God rules us in His peace >

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

"Do all things without complaining and disputing," (Philippians 2:14)

We are "in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation" > in Philippians 2:13-16.

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies" (in Psalm 23:5)

So, in the presence of any enemies, at all, we can have all that our Heavenly Father prepares for us, of His own table before us. And with God we can reach the enemies and help them, including with our example.

Well I'll be. It's not even June yet. :ahah:

As far as I'm concerned, they can put up a million pride flags in the office if they want. I just expect them not to hold it over me if I don't join the club by extolling the same image.

If it bothered me, I would find another job in a more compatible environment. If I were to face firing for removing flags and stickers from my personal workspace, I would look into company policy and then, if necessary, seek legal advice.

The same would be true for any other form of company policy. If the owner of the company decided to run for political office and organize his employees to actively campaign for him on company time either I would enthusiastically do so, or I would not. Many companies use their employees to engage in community service activities on company time. It is a public relations ploy, pure and simple. If a company decided to have their employees engage in an activity, say, march in a parade (Macy's employees are used to perform the annual Thanksgiving parade) then I would decide whether or not I personally am willing to do that. If not, I would go work for Bloomingdale's.

Live and let live. What others do is of little concern to me.

When you were young and your heart, was an open book, you used to say live and let live...

Ask them where they got them and how they paid for them, and if they paid out-of-pocket I’d ask them to submit their receipts so I can reimburse them.

Also how do you react when apps you use decorate the wholehomepage with prode flags?
I probably access the site from my tablet vs my phone because it loads graphic-heavy sites better.

And how do you react when neighbours display pride flags outside their homes
I engage in my absolute favorite activity on earth… Minding my own business.
