  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wrong again.

Americans do not appreciate having masked, armed thugs patrolling their streets and entering their homes illegally.
You are wrong. The majority of voting “Americans “ voted to close the border and remove illegals. Masks were totally fine when mandated by the government during covid ( by the way they did not offer the protection we were duped into believing ). The only reason for the masks on ICE agents is to protect them and their families from pro illegal immigration anarchist.

I'm not contradicting myself at all.
You never actually want to discuss anything do you because you never address what is said to you.
If you understood what bipartisan means, you'd recognize that both parties share the responsibility of getting things done through cooperation....moreso the party in power since, you know, they have the responsibility to get things done. This isn't some "Dem talking point"...this is basic reasoning tied to the definition of the word. You don't get any kind of respect or standing by simply dismissing something legitimate...like the words being used..

Demos keep getting blamed but either you don't know what bipartisanship means, OR you expect Dems to simply cave to the will of whatever Republicans want in terms of their budget items and if they don't they hate and endanger America.

This approach sounds like something of a petulent child. As an adult, you could do better.

However, it appears to me that your understanding of the utmost importance of DHS doesn't come close to agreement with my understanding.
I understand the importance of it, of course.

But you know as well as i do defence and security is a money pit in the US and justifying MORE money, should frankly, require laws given how willing your government is to buy bombs over providing food and healthcare to its citizens.

Past tense. Look at current polls and stop living in the past where the full meaning of what Donald Trump actually meant (strong arming anyone of colour into being affraid) was no yet understood by the voting American public.

His approval numbers are the lowest in history. You can't keep arguing what he's doing is popular unless you're an idiot.

And I really dont' think you're an idiot.

Federal law enforcement officers are NOT armed thugs and they are not illegally entering homes.
1) They BEHAVE like thugs. You are right that they are not thugs (though some of them are).
2) Some of them absolutely have entered homes illegally.

NOTING that a memo from their department does not change the law.

You know that right?

The federal and states governments spend trillions of dollars providing food and health care to not just American citizens, but also to legal and illegal immigrants.

Strong arming people of color into being afraid is the heinous propaganda being pushed by left wing liberals.

From Google Overview:

In the last 15 years JUST the US military has spent 12 trillion

In the last 15 years, the US has spent 1.5 Trillion TOTAL on SNAP and food related benefits.

Do you know how much EVEN YOUR life would improve if say, they spent, say, 4 trillion on food and housing programs?

Just have a seat and whisper if a person is going to dare to suggest the US ever prioritizes food and healthcare for their citizens.

Enforcers can behave like thugs.

Do you know understand what I'm getting at? We are arguing two different things. I know we can kind of mostly agree that they ARE ENFORCING the laws (though many of them don't do that well...more on that later).
My argument is how they are doing it and what I have seen video of them doing.

later

2) They have not entered homes illegally.
This should not be news

The Deporter in Chief enforced federal immigration laws, but there was not where near this level of thuggishness.
2) They have not entered homes illegally.
They have entered without judicial warrants. I'm not sure whether it has been tested in the courts, but it is widely considered to be unconstitutional on 4th Amendment grounds to enter a home with an 'administrative' warrant. ETA: as rambot's link shows, this policy violates DHS' own training materials.

I believe you are misinformed. Explain to us how that “unanimously approved “ Senate vote
Fine. It was "approved by unanimous consent".

House Republicans privately express ‘tremendous concerns’ with Mike Johnson’s play call on DHS

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., came out in opposition to the Senate deal on DHS on Friday, saying he wouldn’t put the bill on the floor. Many House Republicans privately think he’s making a mistake.

“We are not gonna eat the crap sandwich the Senate sent us,” Johnson told House Republicans, according to a source on the line.

[That poowich is 75% of the cake that Republicans want, and with no strings attached.]

Rep. Ann Wagner, R-Mo., urged GOP leadership to “take yes for an answer,” arguing that not doing so would put the GOP in “jeopardy.”

really? Because that's whats happening to the US, so obviously acording to you, voting for X means you vote for how ever it happens. You vote for removing violent ilegal imigrants it means you vote for any methods used!
Did you vote to open the borders and flood the US with many criminals and terrorists?

Wrong again.

Americans do not appreciate having masked, armed thugs patrolling their streets and entering their homes illegally.
None of which justifies letting in 25 million illegals, and now trying to keep them here.
