I like to let the Bible speak for itself but ok.
I understand, but I'm a bit different. I'm old. I've read the bible many times. Such that at this point I'm not really concerned about what the bible says. I'm concerned about you. I'm concerned about what you think. I'm concerned about what that wee small voice inside of you has to say. It's easy just to quote scripture, because then any attack on you can be deflected as simply an attack on the bible. You never have to open yourself up to the possibility that you might be wrong. But I want you to face up to that possibility, and when faced with it, I want to know what you really think. In your words, not in scriptures conveniently drawn from the bible, to say something that you don't really understand.
Also, how do suggest we read and study the Bible?
This is a tough question, but a very good one. My best answer is, just read it. But in doing so, be patient because the greatest teacher is time. Time to listen. Time to learn. Because God and life don't always give out answers right away. They make you struggle for them. They make you think about them. They make you learn patience, and humility, and open-mindedness. They make you learn how to say 'I don't know'.
You think it's about learning scriptures, but that's not it at all, it's about learning patience, and compassion, and mercy. When you've got those down, then ask me again how you should study the bible, but I don't think that you'll have to.
