I mean, that is what I have always heard. Fortunately, I do live in the U.S. where this law applies.
Now, I'm no lawyer or expert in the law (not even for laws of my own country) but I have seen sheets of paper in the past when I have applied for employment and on there it does cite this law, that employers cannot discriminate against their employees based upon their religion. Or their race, gender, origin, etc. etc. etc. for that matter.
I am actually relieved to have this law around here in the U.S. Otherwise, I think us saints would be in a bad way: we would be hunted and killed all the time by evil people and we would have to try and do something about it. Defend ourselves maybe?
With this our churches are essentially protected and upheld by the law.
Years ago my mom worked a job when I was very little. An employee at her work did try to get her fired because she was a Christian, and I think my mom should have done something about that. Stood up to her maybe legally? I know this was religious persecution and a violation of the law. But unfortunately mom got fired and she had to look for employment elsewhere. I kind of wish she had sued that lady for wrongful termination and religious discrimination. But she didn't want any trouble I remember.
Have you guys ever heard of something like that happening anywhere? I mean, here in the U.S.? Its unheard of. Maybe in other countries its common, but not here!
