Former President Bill Clinton faced a high-stakes closed-door deposition Friday before the House Oversight Committee, but it was a comment about President Donald Trump that quickly drew attention.

According to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-(KY), Clinton made clear that Trump had never given him any reason to believe he was involved in wrongdoing connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Comer told reporters Friday afternoon, “The president [Bill Clinton] went on to say that President Trump, has never said anything to me to make me think he was involved and he meant with Epstein.”

Comer added, “So just, I know there’s a lot of curiosity about President Trump. I thought that was an interesting thing that President Clinton said.”

The testimony took place at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center in Westchester County, near the Clintons’ longtime home in New York. The deposition began at 11 a.m. and followed months of negotiations between committee lawyers and Clinton’s legal team. Republicans had previously warned of potential contempt proceedings before Clinton ultimately agreed to appear.

One of my closest friends has worked for the FBI for the last 15 years. Her fiance has been a member of the Secret Service much longer than that. Don't bet money on anything either Clinton or Trump says. Whole lot of secrets between those two. And around D.C.. in political circles they're rather open secrets.

Ya know, I had a very similar thought the other day after they killed El Mencho. I thought, that empire is so big, so much money, so much power and so much lust for the drugs. They have killed a big snake, but another will take it's place before long..

Then it dawned on me, the same is probably true of Epstein. So much money involved. So much power involved. So many of the world's rich and powerful involved chasing the sin he offered. So many secrets. All of that is just going to stop happening because the snake that was leading it is dead? I expect his empire or one that has risen from its ashes is still going at some level.

Yes. The underlings. That's why it is actually important to keep investigating. To expose all of the slime to the light of day. It ALL needs to be routed out. Well Clinton claimed to not have sex with that woman either. My sister in law’s husband’s best friend is an FBI agent. He does not disclose much though. He mostly works on murder and missing persons cases.

My friend doesn't disclose much either. She has never directly said anything. She gives "hints." You have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to figure out what her hints mean. Her fiance doesn't even speak, He answers with his eyes. Ask him a question and his eyes give away the answer.

That's why I vote independently. I find a few decent things I like with the democrats. I find a few decent things I like with republicans. But I find a number of mind-numbing, ridiculous things I can't stand with both parties. The nastiness, name-calling, anger, hatred and bitterness makes me want to hurl. Both parties used to have a modicum of decency and diplomacy and tried to work together to pass laws. Now, it is a game of one-upmanship and who's to blame. I almost feel like not voting at times, but then remember how incredibly difficult it was for women to get the right to vote.
