CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Heaps - here are a few to ponder on.
A proverb... When you are plowing your field and you hit a rock, don't look back or you will go off course.
Western Christianity is presented like an instant meal - Real growth in Him takes years, not weeks or months.
Holding unforgiveness towards others is a sure way to stall your Christian growth.
There is no easy way to strong faith without serious crisis.
You will have many teachers but very few fathers in the faith - seek them out carefully with His help.
Don't fear total surrender to Jesus, thinking that loss of control means chaos. Surrender to our God of order results in a better life not a disaster.
When seeking fellowship expect to find Love. Good doctrine with indifference is not a safe place to grow.
Honesty before God about your weaknesses will get a sure response.
The Truth of the Word is not complicated or He would be discriminating against the simple.
Faith is not a mental state we hold onto - Faith comes from Hearing the Word of Christ.
That will do for the moment...
