CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ah. I have not observed it to work well in Australia. So-called Christian political parties are difficult to recognise as such.
It's my observation that Christians working within the political system, and even established political parties, have been able to achieve much good, if not perfect outcomes. Part of this is about forming Christians who are able to be engaged and responsible citizens and participants in democracy; part of it is about faithful reflection on policy within our churches. All of it, I think, flows from a clear sense of our mission as a church.

Governments once loved the churches playing the good Samaritan role as it took pressure off of them, but now few care about that concept and religion is becoming irrelevant as a useful tool to governments.

The strange thing is the exact same mindset is found in secular society. They have no idea of the factual history of their own nations. They are fed lies in education. Education is more a politicising of the mind than education. So maybe that wider cultural breakdown has also affected how Christians think today.
I have thought if a church truely followed the teachings and acted in a similar way to the early church. Then it would be completely different to todays church. Even to the point that some will say its unreal and a cult.
Yet they would be doing nothing wrong and in fact probably have more justification and authenticity in that they could not be charged for being a hypocrite by not practicing what they preach.
The greatest charge against the church today and in fact against any secular ideology that claims to be standing for a new world order of peace is that they are hypocrites. They either are promoting a false ideology as a catch or they have one foot still in the world.
The church has to be completely different and seperate from the world. To the point the world hates it. NOt loves it. Thats the lie, that Christs church and Gods kingdom has to look good now on earth, represent peace on earth in the world and not in heaven. A man made kingdom as opposed to Gods kingdom.

Indeed, but that doesn’t answer my question. What is “the Gospel of the Kingdom?” And how does it relate to the epistles of St. Paul, for example?

Indeed, but that doesn’t answer the question, and the issue of St. Paul is important. I don’t understand why you’re unwilling to answer a simple question concerning the relationship between the Pauline Epistles and the Gospel of the Kingdom… On what scriptural basis is it proper to conceal important information about the Gospel? Is that not hiding our light under a bushel?

Considering that is what it is all about... God dealing with adversity to His Will. People tend to ignore it because they prefer to make it all about us instead (which is adversity in itself).

Yup. I know full well we are to keep our eyes on Jesus and not pay attention to the Devil at all, but if he attacks us, we got to be ready and prepared for that.

Good point. If instead of WWJD we could ask what would Satan do and recognize he would do no different than we have done. We don't like to see ourselves as backwards, on the wrong side of the mirror. This is what repentance/change is all about.
