  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It is a shame that that I should post this in controversial theology but ever sin I have been in the church, since 1990 I have been told that the bibles we have are not translated accurately. If God is all powerful, why couldn't He get us a bible that we can trust. I do believe that God has given us bibles that we can trust. Most accepted bibles are correct. God loves His church and I'm sure that He did not struggle too hard to get us a bible we can put our trust in it to get us into heaven. I'll bet anyone that He didn't even break into a sweat.

I certainly do not feel the need to defend what I have said.

The oldest scriptures we have are from the Dead Sea Scrolls, and their translation is in the ESV. However it seems we have gone from ancient times where scripture or words were changed to suit a growing religion, to one where changing a few words gives the translator copyright and ability to profit. Even a simple phrase like 'Jesus died because of our sins' changed to one of 'Jesus died for our sins' changes everything and for what or who's purpose? Certainly not God's. But even if changing a few words may seem to keep close to the original meaning, when did scripture become a means to a profitable end? Is not this scripture used for adversarial purposes now tainted and those who follow religion changed accordingly now the same as what God no longer considered Holy? His Word is, but ours and our purposes are not.
