  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

When should a pastor be restored after sexual sin?

Never.

Restored to repentance and fellowship yes, but never to the role as pastor again.
Peter denied knowing the Lord, was restored and maintained his Apostleship. Each instance needs to be judged individually but I agree with Sabertooth quoted below:

“Also, I think the dynamics are different for heterosexual adultery vs. child molestation (and other sexual perversions).
The former is something we are all vulnerable to.
The latter is indicative of deeper-seated problems.”

They would need to prove it with scripture.
To 'your' satisfaction. But what if your interpretation of Scripture is not infallible?

Its likely he was married prior to being
An Apostle had to be!
There is no requirement in the scripture for celebacy for anyone that I recall. If you know of one, share it.

You won't find heresy in my faith.
Haven't looked yet. Haven't even been inclined to look. But then you haven't provided that much information on which to tell. So I can't very well 'find heresy' in your faith without you showing in detail what you do believe.

You say you follow the Bible alone, but lots of people who say exactly that believe things that others who say exactly that don't believe. How do they all believe the same Bible if they don't believe the same things? I think there's something wrong there.

Pretty much the problem I ran into as a Protestant. The Bible alone does not mean much when everyone has a different interpretation. And the cherry picking! Ugh! A big point of frustration for me.
