  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What does the bride of Christ look like?

Does she adorn herself with makeup, jewelry, clothing and hair styles? Or does she wear a shawl over her head and dress plainly?

Does she worry and argue over economic matters? Or does she look to God for her prosperity and never complains?

Does she hoard money or live in luxury? Or is she poor like Jesus and his apostles were?

I once wrote a whole post about my ideal (obviously, fantasy) wife, who could turn me inside out with just the sight of her, who makes me strong by being with me, whose beauty is only mine and only increases over time, who has no physical, emotional or mental imperfections, whose grace of motion, intent, thought and speech is natural to her, and not a put on, whose love for me was deeply into me--even part of me, she delights in me only, other delights seen as relating to me; in fact, her every thought includes who I am to her. She identifies herself in me. She is always new and finds me always new. --And the description went on and on.

This 'ideal' wife has nothing on the Bride of Christ.

The "Bride of Christ" is a metaphor for the entire Church—men and women alike—and it’s about our spiritual devotion to God. The Bride of Christ is His perfected Church. "She" is not a woman adorned, rich and luxurious and should never be compared to such. You possibly need to understand who the Bride is and what it means to Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Blessings.

I understand. My question actually refers to people in the church
