  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How many of you actually believe in these conspiracy theories? Be honest.

I personally don't, I think a lot of you Republicans get caught up in ridiculous sounding stuff like this.

If any of you have any hard evidence proving a conspiracy theory, I might believe it.

But until then: Nope.

Seeing a conspiracy theory is just something that ins't totally proven, a lot of them could be true,
and in the past a lot of them came to light as true, but i am not into conspiracy theories much.

Do Republicans in the United States really have more of a tendency to believe things like a fat earth, the moon landings being faked, etc. than Democrats do? Here in the UK, I don't imagine that Conservatives are more likely to believe in conspiracy theories than Labour supporters, or vice versa.

How many of you actually believe in these conspiracy theories?
  1. Organized criminal enterprises are built on conspiracy. (That is the basis for RICO laws...)
  2. When the prophesied Anti-Christ comes into power, it will be driven by conspiracy.
I believe that most conspiracy theories are
  • empty,
  • deliberately outlandish,
  • exaggerated &
  • distractions
obscuring and granting plausible deniability to those that are real. Think of it as mass gaslighting; hiding in plain sight.

Underestimating conspiracy is just as bad overestimating it.

I doubt you'll believe me when I say the earth is flat & the moon landings were staged as the only proof I have is from other flat earthers & moon landing deniers.

But surely that must be the case. Anybody who really believes that they have proof that the earth is flat and that the moon landings never happened is hardly going to believe in a globe earth and real moon landings. Obviously anybody claiming to have proof of a flat earth is not going to believe in a globe earth, and anybody claiming to have proof that the moon landings didn't really happen is not going to believe that they did.

What about Scripture most verses indicate towards a level earth. Anyway this is not a flat earth thread & I do not wish to derail this thread for @JacquelineDeane55.

I have tried many times to encourage you to show me which verses "indicate towards a level earth." But, as you rightly say, this is not a flat earth thread, and I, like you, have no wish to derail it, so I'll leave it there.

I think a lot of people spend too much time on topics that have little impact on their daily existence. They'll expound on controversial subjects while ignoring the simple things they can affect like a relationship with God, healthy diet, exercise, close bonds and community and so on. Are there instances when some subjects may be pertinent? Of course. But the average person isn't in high level positions, entertainment or roles with a lot of visibility. That's when you have to be careful. Otherwise, trust in the Lord and follow His leading above others. Living righteously solves a lot of problems. You won't be attracted to the things that draw the wicked or likely to fall into their clutches.

I hear you. I see people saying the craziest things here and act as if it’s a requirement of the faith. I question mental health of some. Do I believe any of it? Not in the slightest. It could be a fun topic if discussed with reason. Unfortunately, that quality is lacking in most that latch on to these things.

In other words, no proof, only opinions.

the only proof I have is from other flat earthers & moon landing deniers.

As I've said before, God's word is my proof.
So now the opinions of flat earthers & moon landing deniers is God's word!

I know that isn't what you meant but that is what logically follows from those two statements. Basically, nothing you say can be trusted.

We've also explained to you that your interpretation of God's word, is not equal to God's word. Pretty much every heresy that sprang up in the history of Christianity was based, just like your belief, on God's word, or rather a bad interpretation of the same. God's word does not contradict His creation whereas your interpretation of God's word does contradict creation. Therefore you interpretation must be false.

This is what I said in post #10.
"Level" means equidistant from the centre of the Earth. It is a curve. Large ships disappear bottom first on the horizon because "sea level" is a curved surface. International flights maintain "level" flight as they stay at a fixed altitude above the curved surface of the Earth.
