  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hundreds of psychiatrists diagnosed Trump as having Malignant NPD. If the Administration got sick of him, who enacts the 25th? When? How?

Anyone who calls FOX a propaganda outlet cannot back up that ridiculous claim with facts. They are provably far more balanced and factual than outlets like CNN, MSNBC and the like.
That's not my job - but the job of trustworthy 'media ecologists' like the Media Bias Fact check (link above).

Try watching PBS, Reuters, or reading "The Conversation" (USA).

"Trump bashing clothed in religious rhetoric is a disgrace."
I'm sorry you feel that way, but I stand by what I said.

Giving the Oval Office and more importantly "The Football" to someone with NPD is the far more serious disgrace.

This period will be analyzed by social psychologists and sociologists and political historians for generations to come .
They will write all sorts of papers with fancy industry terminology - but it will come down to two questions:-
1. How is the system so broken that someone like Trump - with NPD - got in?
2. How can we stop it EVER happening again!?

How about 787.5 million facts?

-- A2SG, tip o' the iceberg.....
I see what you did there - and I like it!

FOX:
Rupert admitting the election WAS NOT IN FACT STOLEN and paying a billion Aussie bucks to prevent MORE coming out in court has got to be the biggest take down of Fox propaganda outlet. Trump lost that election but incited violence on January 6th, climate change is real, evolution happened, and Trump's NPD makes him the most dangerous and unreliable President in American history.

NATO:
Other than that he's doing a FANTASTIC job of ensuring the EU accelerates towards arming themselves against Russia. Mainly because he broke NATO - the most successful military alliance in history. Oh - and in case some MAGA type trots out "GOOD - about time the EU started arming themselves instead of us footing the bill the whole time!" Where do you think the EU bought most of their hardware?
The USA spent about $570 million on bases in Europe, defending NATO.
The EU spent about $ 60 000 million buying American weapons.
Who is bailing out who, exactly?

Trump did TOO good a job of threatening NATO.
They woke up and smelled the coffee. (Or is that freshly minted cash from the idea of their own Military Industrial Complex!?)
Trump just cost America $60 billion in military hardware.
It will take a while, but the EU are weaning off American hardware.
The American military are going to shrink maybe 9% from this.

How does this relate to NPD?
You watch Trump.
When he's backed into a corner, rather than apologise for his mistakes he will do what he always does.
Declare victory! What a resounding success!
He got the EU to stop bailing out the AMERICAN Military Industrial Complex!

Wait for the dust to settle in Georgia before taking that victory dance. There are already proven and admitted problems with the 2020 election in Fulton County.

A politically and financially expedient admission is not a testament to facts.
Trump lost that election but incited violence on January 6th
On the election, Biden was installed and physically served but that does not prove he was legitimate! Trump did not incite violence that is a liberal false talking point.
climate change is real
Sure the climate is ever changing but the false narrative and scam surrounding that fact is false!
evolution happened
Nope , that is false!
Trump's NPD makes him the most dangerous and unreliable President in American history.
Trump has only been diagnosed by liberal media/ psychologist hacks. No legitimate diagnosis. Trump is and had been the most effective, successful President in history.

Malignant Narcissistic Personality Disorder ... Hundreds of psychiatrists and mental health experts ..
You mean, Hundreds of psychiatrists and mental health quacks.

Malignant narcissism is not recognized as a diagnostic category in any major classification system for mental disorders, namely DSM-5-TR, or ICD-11.

Wait for the dust to settle in Georgia before taking that victory dance.
No need to wait, Fox already tacitly admitted they intentionally lied for Trump and the GOP. Pretty much the textbook definition of propaganda.

There are already proven and admitted problems with the 2020 election in Fulton County.
But still no proof that massive election fraud occurred, much less on the scale that Trump claimed.

Well, let's take a look...

Rupert Murdoch's Fox 'admits to telling lies' and settles defamation suit for $1.2 billion

The US judge overseeing Dominion Voting Systems' defamation lawsuit against Fox Corp and Fox News says the parties have reached a settlement, averting a trial.

Knowingly repeating lies by politicians trying to fraudulently overturn an election would probably qualify as "propaganda."

This is not my opinion, but the opinion of all those experts cited above.

It is NOT, however, the opinion of the psychiatrist who wrote the criteria that define NPD:

Fevered media speculation about Donald Trump’s psychological motivations and psychiatric diagnosis has recently encouraged mental health professionals to disregard the usual ethical constraints against diagnosing public figures at a distance. They have sponsored several petitions and a Feb. 14 letter to The New York Times suggesting that Mr. Trump is incapable, on psychiatric grounds, of serving as president.

Most amateur diagnosticians have mislabeled President Trump with the diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder. I wrote the criteria that define this disorder, and Mr. Trump doesn’t meet them. He may be a world-class narcissist, but this doesn’t make him mentally ill, because he does not suffer from the distress and impairment required to diagnose mental disorder.

...

Bad behavior is rarely a sign of mental illness, and the mentally ill behave badly only rarely. Psychiatric name-calling is a misguided way of countering Mr. Trump’s attack on democracy. He can, and should, be appropriately denounced for his ignorance, incompetence, impulsivity and pursuit of dictatorial powers.

Sure, I'll go with that. I don't think Trump is mentally incompetent. I don't think the 25th Amendment was intended for someone like him. It's more for cases like advanced dementia. Trump's world-class narcissism isn't necessarily a bad thing in and of itself. It gives him a strong force of personality, which can be very effective as a president.

I'd have to disagree. I believe Trump has demonstrated ignorance, incompetence, and impulsivity in both of his terms as President at various times.

Regardless, he does not have NPD, or at least so says the psychiatrist who wrote the criteria for the disorder, which is the topic of this thread, and therefore the premise that the 25th amendment should be invoked to remove him on grounds that he has NPD is false and baseless.

You are free to disagree but you are wrong. What specifically shows: 1. Ignorance 2. Incompetence 3.impulsivity. Just a few of his accomplishment: 1. Border closed 2. Tax cuts made permanent 3. Encouraged major foreign investment 4. Major blow to Irans nuclear ambitions 5. Inflation down 6. Several world conflicts negotiated 7. Deportation of illegal criminal aliens 8.billions in tariff dollars in treasury 9. Bonus paid to military 10. Reinstated wrongly discharged military over refusing Covid shots. If it weren’t so sad it would be laughable to read all of the Trump bashing totally devoid of facts. Trump is doing exactly what we elected him to do. Sorry if all the success is so annoying to many liberals.

The whole “many psychiatrists are saying…” thrust misses the point that a person cannot be removed from the Presidency simply because they exhibit signs of being NPD.

The job begs for a narcissistic person to hold it!
I’m not at all surprised that we’ve had “so many” narcissistic men, in the Office, but rather that we’ve had so few.

“2 Corinthians”.
2. Incompetence
He writes Executive Orders and brags about how they’re going to change (anything beyond how the Executive Branch will execute them), everything.
3.impulsivity.
He issues so many tariff “warnings” and edicts, that, (if they are “planned”, which would become another point under “2.”’), one has to assume “impulsivity”, otherwise concede that Trump forgot that he fought for the USMCA that he himself wanted and wants to wreck the trade betwixt the Three major nations of the Continent of North America because he was incompetent when he sent it to the Senate. (This would fall under “1.”)

Just a few of his accomplishment: 1. Border closed
Nobody from […]hole countries wants to try their “luck” here, anymore?
What changed?

2. Tax cuts made permanent

More debt means we can’t go broke anymore since we’ll owe so much! ? Mercy me, I wish that I could be that optimistic!
3. Encouraged major foreign investment
Yeah, I see that major players in the world want to prop up the Trump family cryptocurrency “$TRUMP”
That‘s a “good thing”, right, when other nations have a say in how much the President’s family earns?
Good.

4. Major blow to Irans nuclear ambitions
Iran has been “close”, (months away!) to obtaining nuclear weapons for nearing 50 years.
A democrat will do strikes, too, again, in 15 years or so. However, if that is the extent of the “diplomacy“, then that will have failed as much as this one. (“1.” & “2.”).

5. Inflation down
I’ll give you this one. Inflation is down.
6. Several world conflicts negotiated
You can have this one too, because it means nothing.

7. Deportation of illegal criminal aliens
Yes, this has been an on-going thing since the 1920s, every President’s Administration has done this. Good on Trump for upholding this “norm” at least.

8.billions in tariff dollars in treasury
When’s them checks coming?

9. Bonus paid to military

And it was “free” to boot!
10. Reinstated wrongly discharged military over refusing Covid shots. If it weren’t so sad it would be laughable to read all of the Trump bashing totally devoid of facts.
People who exhibit their profound distrust of their superiors for the latter’s orders to the former that the COVID19 shot was safe and effective, (and therefore a lawfully ordered), understood that they were free to not get the shots, but that they’d have to separate from the service. Dems da rulz

You are free to disagree but you are wrong.

I'm sure you think so. But in reality, we have different opinions and perceptions. So this next part is likely an exercise in futility, since any examples I provide will almost certainly be explained away by you. Nevertheless...

What specifically shows: 1. Ignorance

The President of the United States was unable to pronounce the word "acetaminophen", arguably one of the most commonly used medications in the world.

“Effective immediately, the FDA will be notifying physicians that the use of aceta— well, let's see how we say that,” Trump paused. Working through the word syllable by syllable, the president continued: “Acetam — enophin. Acetaminophen. Is that OK? Which is basically commonly known as Tylenol."

Not only is this a very common medication, it was the topic of the press conference. Perhaps Trump should have read his press release ahead of time so as not to demonstrate his blatant ignorance of such a common medication.

2. Incompetence

The appointment of Pam Bondi to US Attorney General stands out to me as an example of wild incompetence.

3.impulsivity.

Tariffs today, but not tomorrow. HIs impulsivity on this one topic is wreaking havoc on manufacturers the world over. I work with some trade compliance people who are basically pulling their hair out over the impulsivity and indecisiveness of Trump as it pertains to tariffs. You can argue the effectiveness of his tariff policy if you like, but no objective person would disagree that it has been wildly impulsive.

This is a weird retort. Just because someone has accomplished something, that does not preclude them from being ignorant, incompetent and/or impulsive in other areas.

If it weren’t so sad it would be laughable to read all of the Trump bashing totally devoid of facts.

I'm not Trump bashing. I'm pointing out examples of where I believe Trump has acted ignorantly, incompetently and impulsively, like you asked me to do. I do not "bash" Trump, but neither do I ignore his many shortcomings. Sure, he's accomplished things. But that doesn't give him a pass on his failures.

Trump is doing exactly what we elected him to do. Sorry if all the success is so annoying to many liberals.

Cool. I'm just an independent who calls out nonsense when and where I see it. I have no party loyalty that precludes me from expressing my thoughts freely on any politician.

“2 Corinthians”.
Care to be more specific? Did you actually mean to use a verse from 1 Corinthians?
He writes Executive Orders and brags about how they’re going to change (anything beyond how the Executive Branch will execute them), everything.
He had a lot of executive order insanity to clean up from the previous.
You are just jealous that Trump is actually concerned with how other countries used tariffs for their benefit while the previous resident probably didn’t even know or care about trade imbalances against the US.
Nobody from […]hole countries wants to try their “luck” here, anymore?
What changed?
Great ! The plan is working. No free entry, no free stuff. Only lawful immigration, what a novel concept!
More debt means we can’t go broke anymore since we’ll owe so much! ? Mercy me, I wish that I could be that optimistic!
We were broke long before Trump. At least some of the government waste is being exposed and dealt with when allowed by rogue liberal judges.
Yeah, I see that major players in the world want to prop up the Trump family cryptocurrency “$TRUMP”
That‘s a “good thing”, right, when other nations have a say in how much the President’s family earns?
Good.
Nice diversion. I believe the point was foreign investment in business snd commerce.
Iran has been “close”, (months away!) to obtaining nuclear weapons for nearing 50 years.
A democrat will do strikes, too, again, in 15 years or so. However, if that is the extent of the “diplomacy“, then that will have failed as much as this one. (“1.” & “2.”).
If democrat politicians of the stripe we have today are in power 50 years from now Iranians may control our nukes.
I’ll give you this one. Inflation is down.
I bet that hurt!
You can have this one too, because it means nothing.
Maybe not to you.
Yes, this has been an on-going thing since the 1920s, every President’s Administration has done this. Good on Trump for upholding this “norm” at least.
Yes but you fail to mention the closed border and the failures of the previous resident which greatly compounded the problem.
Never, if greedy politicians have their way.
And it was “free” to boot!
Great , creative book keeping. The brave service men and women appreciated it .
People who exhibit their profound distrust of their superiors for the latter’s orders to the former that the COVID19 shot was safe and effective, (and therefore a lawfully ordered), understood that they were free to not get the shots, but that they’d have to separate from the service. Dems da rulz
You should do more research on the actual safety and real benefit of the shots. The government mandates and private business mandates were a massive overreach.
I’m really glad that you seem happy with President Trump and the Trump2.0 Administration.
Enjoy this time, of getting what you “expect”.
3 more years! If a certain party doesn’t come back down to planet earth probably 11 or more years.
