  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Casey Wasserman Selling His Talent Agency After Epstein Debacle: ‘I Have Become a Distraction’

Following an exodus of talent who have left the Wasserman Group talent agency after emails between founder Casey Wasserman and Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell were revealed in the Justice Department’s latest tranche of documents, pressure for the founder to step down came to a boiling point in recent days. On Friday, Wasserman announced that he was selling the company as he had become a “distraction” to the business he founded 24 years ago.

In a memo sent to Wasserman agency employees and obtained by Rolling Stone, the founder apologized for his “past personal mistakes” that have caused “so much discomfort.” “It’s not fair to you, and it’s not fair to the clients and partners we represent so vigorously and care so deeply about,” he added.

But will he remains as head of LA28?

The LA28 executive committee said on Wednesday that Wasserman will continue leading preparations for the Summer Games despite calls for him to step down.

At least half a dozen top Trump administration officials appear in the Jeffrey Epstein files

The degree to which each individual was connected to Epstein varies significantly, from a single email to years of communications. President Donald Trump, who had a lengthy relationship with Epstein, is mentioned thousands of times in the files. Trump has never been accused by authorities of any wrongdoing connected to Epstein, and has said he parted ways with him in the mid-2000s because he was a “creep.” He has also denied any wrongdoing.

During a testy oversight hearing on Wednesday. Rep. Becca Balint, D-Vt., pressed Attorney General Pam Bondi on whether any current administration officials have been questioned by the Justice Department about their ties to Epstein.

"I'm stunned that you want to continue talking about Epstein," Bondi replied while sidestepping the question. [That's what the hearing was about. Maybe Bondi could have offered answers.]

Some officials from previous Democratic administrations have appeared in the files — including former President Bill Clinton [who cut ties with Epstein before his first convictions], his former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers [taking a leave of absence from Harvard], and former Obama White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler [resigning her position at Goldman Sachs].

[Ex-Trump officials include Alex Acosta], former DOGE chief Elon Musk and former chief strategist Steve Bannon

MAGA's Lauren Boebert the latest to break from Trump administration after seeing unredacted Epstein files

"I saw some of them, not all of them obviously. I'll be going back tomorrow to see more," Boebert, who rose to fame as one of the key figures in the MAGA branch of the GOP, told reporter Pablo Manríquez. "I think that there are folks who are definitely implicated and co-conspirators," she added.

Boebert has been a longtime vocal Trump ally. However, she was among four House Republicans, alongside Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Nancy Mace of South Carolina, who joined with Democrats to force the Epstein Files Transparency Act to the floor for a vote, despite resistance from the White House.

Lutnick is just a regular guy like us.

Lutnick’s Epstein ties raise concerns on Wall Street — but not in the White House

Lutnick emailed Epstein’s assistant in May 2018 about a proposed expansion to the Frick Collection, a museum one block south of Lutnick’s and Epstein’s adjacent townhouses on East 71st Street in Manhattan.

“Are you aware as to them building to block our park views. What should we do about it? Time is of the essence,” wrote Lutnick, who was then the CEO of Wall Street firm Cantor Fitzgerald.

“No i was not,” Epstein responded after his assistant forwarded Lutnick’s email.

What's more natural than writing your neighbor when the art museum's expansion threatens your view? Happens all the time to me.

The email exchange shows that Lutnick, now President Donald Trump’s commerce secretary, communicated with Epstein more than a decade after he claimed he cut off all contact with the convicted sex offender who died in 2019.

“Lutnick was grossly deceptive. And it’s not an ambiguous call,” Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, founder of the Yale Chief Executive Leadership Institute, said of Lutnick’s claims he ended all contact with Epstein in 2005. “Every CEO who shakes hands with Howard Lutnick will want to wash them afterwards.”
