NORWICH, Conn. (AP) — The U.S. State Department has ordered certain public libraries nationwide to cease processing passport applications, disrupting a long-standing service that librarians say their communities have come to rely on and that has run smoothly for years.

Who says the private sector can do things better? This should be paid for by the taxpayers.

And “for-profit libraries“? Do they get a sudden influx of “new customers”?

It’s as close as we’ll come to “socialism”; since we argue about how the libraries are run/stocked, we don’t need any more than that level of “socialism”.
We haven’t even figured out that healthcare screams for a socialist solution, of some sort.
But of we can’t successfully run libraries, what chance would a healthcare system have?

We’re victims of principle.

I don't know. I did look up for profit library and it appears to be a private club/library where you pay a membership.

It's government run vs private/non profit, not profit vs private.

You may soon need a passport to vote. Trump is making it harder to get one.
