  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Wild claims that Kristi Noem said the Bible was written in English

Here is a report that shows that this same bogus claim is often made against conservative public figures.

"There is no credible record of Kristi Noem claiming the Bible
was originally written in English.
She has recently faced criticism for integrating biblical themes into her role as Secretary of Homeland Security, which may have contributed to the spread of satirical or unverified quotes online.
  • Social Media Claims: Recent social media posts erroneously attribute the phrase, "If Jesus wanted America to speak Spanish, he wouldn’t have written the Bible in English," to her.
  • Origin of Quote: This specific phrase is a long-running political meme and "urban legend" often falsely attributed to various conservative figures to mock perceived lack of historical or linguistic knowledge.

Where exactly is this "report" from? You don't say; you just say it's a "report" without specifying the source, like any link (there are links in the text, but they are not the source of this report). An argument that some unspecified report from some unspecified place says something isn't much of an argument at all. I'm going to guess this is a copy/pasted AI statement. If so, that means it only has as much value as whatever source the AI used to get the information from... which no information is provided about, making it essentially worthless.

It would be better to cite something like this:

People have often--and with valid reason--criticized Snopes for having a liberal bias, so the fact it confirms it isn't true makes it being false all the more compelling. It does include an image of what appears to be the deleted tweet in question mentioned above.
