  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The file dump includes multiple draft statements from federal prosecutors about the sex trafficker’s death, one of them dated the day before Epstein died.

Epstein’s former cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, claimed in a pardon petition filed last summer and recently obtained by the Daily Beast that Epstein was deliberately left unprotected in federal custody.

Tartaglione, a former police officer convicted of multiple murders, alleged that prison officials knowingly housed Epstein with an accused mass murderer despite earlier reports that the disgraced financier had raised concerns about his safety weeks before his death.

Or an easily faked document. But either way, it's sitting on a hard drive somewhere as a dated file. Someone needs to check.
I'll check on it as soon as I can.

If that was what it was being chalked up to, you'd think they would've made some sort of notation, or did a re-issue with the correction in the days following the actual event.

Given intense scrutiny that entire situation was under (one of the highest profile criminals of our generation being found dead in a jail amid security cameras that magically stopped working for a few minutes in the HVI wing of a special protected cell block) seems like the sort of circumstances that would lead to official information releases being reviewed with a fine tooth comb.

Not to mention, a lot of times those documents are generated via templates that automatically populate what the current date is on header for the letterhead. And if it was typed in manually and wrong (it's literally the 2nd thing on the sheet), that's a pretty big flop for reviewers to miss.

What makes you think that document was actually released?

This is from the internal files. There are all kinds of unreleased documents there. (That's the whole point of forcing them to release them.)

Here is the actual press release:

My guess would be that someone (on a Saturday, when it was issued), took a editable version of a previous press release (Word?) and replaced the various sections of text to create a draft and didn't notice the date was wrong. Note that in the PDF linked above the press release number is "19-XXX" indicating that at this draft stage the sequence number wasn't known.

I was just kidding.
