• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I almost wished I had not because I understand a lot of things about my life that I never did before. Even before I knew I experienced a lot of people’s deliberate sin. Once people knew that I have a disability, I suddenly lose all credibility and don’t know anything. I even lose my autonomy. I don’t what I experienced and my successes don’t count.

I have learned the hard way what things are worth my energy and what things are not. To stand up against such things is to fight a war that cannot be won. I can’t change people’s minds or their opinions about me. Although I have stood up against a lot of things and prevailed against all odds.

When I first learned about my capacity for great intelligence, my first thought was “ These people don’t know me very well “. Until they showed it to me and it scared me to death. My interest in taking elite courses online From the university of Phoenix, Harvard and Yale and The University of Edinburgh. Courses from Dallas Theological Seminary Just to name a few.

Yes! I have a powerful Gift from God. Greater than anything else. The capacity to show compassion and watch the Lord touch people through me.

You might be interested in the two resources linked below. The first is a free pdf booklet about Aspergers called Aspergers an Intentional Life. The second is a Christian web site that has booklets, videos, and a blog archive that might be useful.

You might not want to share your diagnosis with everyone. You can explain away idiosyncrasies as they arise such as I am a bit of an introvert, or I am not much of a hugger.

You might be interested in knowing that Asperger’s Syndrome was removed as a diagnosis by the American Psychiatry Association in 2014. Everything is now wrapped up in three types of Autism. Type one, type two and type three. The Symptoms of Asperger’s Syndrome were too similar to Autism.

At one time I believed that I had Asperger’s syndrome until I discovered that it was removed as a diagnosis.

I am aware of the change but do not agree with it. It might be seen as a redefinition that serves the needs of people that make their living from "treating" those they see as afflicted with a disability. Using the word "autism" (which previously described severe brain injury or malformation) allows them to present Aspergers as a mental defect as opposed to a normal neurological variant.

The four boys that Hans Asperger originally observed he considered autistic because they had less interest in group play. This almost lead them to be exterminated. These boys ended up living "normal" and even successful lives.

I continue to use the word Aspergers because there could be the rise of another Nazi regime that would want to exterminate my children or grandchildren.

I can only respond with a verse I remember when I feel like this.

“ For God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of love and of power and of sound mind. Emphasis on power and of Sound Mind.”
