The resources are there for the taking. The native Greenland people are happy if you had them money and they do not care if you take their resources. We see this in Alaska where people are happy to receive a check every year and they do not really care what you do with their oil.
If people want to be upset about something, there are real human‑rights abuses happening right now that deserve attention. Look at what has happened in Tibet under Chinese rule. Protests and dissent are often met with force, and reports from human‑rights organizations describe intimidation, military presence, and severe pressure on local communities. These issues rarely get the outrage they deserve, even though the people living there face far harsher conditions than most of us can imagine.
Think the Tibetans will get gold for most oppressed this year? I think it’s a dead heat between North Koreans and Eritreans myself. Are people required to give all other problems a pass until the Kims and Afwerki are out of power?

Not a very convincing campaign for gold there but it has worked to shift the thread from the presidents fool’s errand of expansionism.

When you look at how nations handle land and resources today, you can see how far we’ve drifted from God’s design. Colonial powers took the wealth and left the people with almost nothing, and in places like the Philippines the same families still control the resources generations later. Modern governments do something similar in a different way—federal parks are treated as if the people are the threat, so you can’t even pick up a rock or a leaf without breaking a rule.
