  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pop star Billie Eilish has been hit with calls to either return her $3 million Los Angeles mansion to a Native American tribe or welcome migrants inside following her controversial Grammys declaration.

The 24-year-old singer won a Grammy for her hit song Wildflower on Sunday, but it was her acceptance speech that got the country talking.

'As grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything but that no one is illegal on stolen land,' Eilish said, referencing the colonization of the Americas by Europeans.

If you take this line of thinking to its natural conclusion, that would mean there shouldn't be any nations or any borders anywhere, since most land currently occupied belonged to someone else at some point or other. There is a large "no borders" contingent among left wing thinkers. This would work once Jesus returns, but I don't see it working very well under human rule.

Agreed. In reality, borders are human constructs. They don’t really “exist” except on maps.

Well? If it’s legally hers, no one can force her to do anything.
If no one is legal on stolen land (as she said, although I've heard that statement before, she didn't make it up), then it stands to reason that no one is legal on stolen land either. Which is why they asked her to return her land to the Native Americans. In other words, put your money where your mouth is.

If it’s on stolen land as she claims then the house is not legally hers. ;)

Technically, isn’t the whole nation “stolen land” because it once belonged to Native American tribes? So should everyone give up their houses? That’s a rather murky idea ;)

That was the point. But she's the one saying it and being critical, so let her do something about it, aside from virtue signaling at the Grammy Awards.

I think it’s no one is illegal on stolen land. That’s what she declared anyway.
But then anyone found on stolen land is illegally there therefore they are illegals.
