No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. Then it's not Trump's fault, since he didn't make them take that leap.

That’s nice.

Ryan Wesley Routh, the second attempted assassin of Trump said in a post tagging Biden, telling him his campaign slogan should be "Keep America Democratic and Free". Biden called Trump a "threat to democracy". Biden also said it was "time to put Trump in a bullseye". Seems he tried to keep America democratic and free by trying to take out the threat Biden identified.

Why don’t you quote the rest of that wikipedia section on his political views? Like the parts where he left the Democratic party in 2012, voted for Trump in 2016, and supported Tulsi, Nikki Haley, and Vivek.

I guess you don't believe in innocent until proven guilty like I do.
I certainly don’t like moving the goalposts like you do.

Not always.
There is no presidential command that did not begin as the president's opinion. A p;residential command is always, always, always based on that president's opinion of the situation.

That's why people around presidents expend a lot of effort attempting to shape their opinions.

Approach for Reagan National’s Runway 33 is within feet of helicopter corridor

The FAA does not give precise coordinates for the edges of the corridor that helicopter pilots can use to fly north and south along the river. Pilots, who fly manually in the area, told The Post they try to adhere to the path depicted on the FAA navigational chart. The Post analysis used the edges as drawn in that chart.

Helicopters that hug the east side of the river, the D.C. side, are farthest below the approach path. The closer a helicopter is to the center of the river, the less vertical space there is between it and the path of a descending plane.

On the final approach to Runway 33, a plane on the path prescribed by the FAA reaches the airspace over the depicted helicopter route at an altitude of just under 250 feet, and exits it at just under 215 feet, The Post’s analysis found.

....

One regional jet pilot, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he still flies for a major airline, said he was shocked the first time a helicopter flew under him as he was making the final approach to Runway 33. He described how the air traffic control tower told him the chopper would maintain visual separation, but the helicopter never slowed down, prompting him to pull up as the helicopter shot past. His evasive maneuver, he said, left him on a steeper and more dangerous descent to the short runway. The pilot said the experience left him shocked and furious.

“I realized that they will let those helicopters do anything once they say ‘traffic in sight,’” he said, describing the practice as “totally insane.”

Yes, it's nice that Trump's opinion can't be blamed for others actions.

Why don’t you quote the rest of that wikipedia section on his political views? Like the parts where he left the Democratic party in 2012, voted for Trump in 2016, and supported Tulsi, Nikki Haley, and Vivek.

He never voted for Trump. "Voting records showed that Routh requested an absentee ballot in 2016, but did not actually vote".

He voiced his dissatisfaction with Trump, "I will be glad when you are gone."

He has donated exclusively to Democrats since 2019.

I certainly don’t like moving the goalposts like you do.

The irony of this comment given that you just tried to deflect away from the fact that Biden's opinion on Trump being a threat to democracy riled up this man to a sufficient degree that they tried to assassinate Trump.

Key safety system off in Army helicopter that collided with American Airlines jet, senator says

Senate Commerce Committee chair Ted Cruz told reporters the Black Hawk helicopter had turned off its automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B), which is permitted for military aircraft.

ADS-B is an advanced surveillance technology to track aircraft location. Cruz noted the helicopter had a transponder so it would appear on radar but ADS-B is significantly more accurate.

NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy told reporters it appears based on the cockpit voice recorder that the helicopter pilot was wearing night vision goggles.

New, March 28 event:

Near-collision investigation reveals Reagan National Airport controllers failed to stop flights during military flyover

A federal investigation is focusing on an air traffic control communications breakdown that led to a formation of military jets coming within seconds of colliding with a Delta Air Lines flight near Reagan National Airport, multiple sources told CNN.

The March 28 incident was in the same crowded Washington, DC, airspace that was the site of January’s fatal midair collision between a commercial flight and an Army helicopter.

As previously reported by CNN, the night before the incident, a fight broke out in the Reagan National control tower, leading airport police to arrest an air traffic controller.

The military jets – flying at more than 350 miles per hour – came less than 3,900 feet laterally and 100 feet vertically from the Delta Airbus A319, which just took off from the airport and was still climbing, according to a source briefed on the incident.

The communications breakdown, according to sources familiar with the incident, appeared to occur when air traffic controllers in the Reagan National Airport control tower failed to hold departing flights for five minutes as planned leading up to the 3:17 p.m. flyover.

Plane with at least 6 House members clipped by aircraft on taxiway at Reagan National Airport near D.C.

"While waiting to take off on the runway at DCA just now, another plane struck our wing," Gottheimer said in a statement posted to X. "Thankfully, everyone is safe. Just a reminder: Recent cuts to the FAA weaken our skies and public safety."

While Gottheimer took note of the potential danger posed by Thursday's bump, LaLota look a slightly more light-hearted view.

"Serving in Congress has come with some once in a lifetime experiences… like just now while stationary on the runway at DCA, another plane just bumped into our wing," he wrote on X. "Heading back to the gate, but thankfully everyone is ok! (And ⁦@RepGraceMeng⁩ is handing out grapes!)."

Until the NTSB final reports come out, speculation as to the cause of these or any other aviation accidents is unwarranted and can interfere with the improvements in airline safety (for example, widespread discussions of potential incompetence by the pilots of the first 737MAX crash contributed to the MCAS defect not being discovered until the second crash, and also to this date most people who have heard of MCAS and the 737Max haven't bothered to read the report to understand the actual fault).

The worst case of such prejudging of the cause of events was in 1996, when the FBI assumed that TWA 800 was a terror attack, when the cause was more subtle, and acrively interfered with the NTSB investigation, which delayed corrective action on other older 747s and could have led to another 747-100/200 having a similar center fuel tank explosion. And these aircraft were not retired after TW 800, except by TWA which was in the course of a contraction anyway due to poor financial health. Delta kept a few 200s acquired in the merger with Northwest in service until around 2010, for example.

NTSB probing aborted landings at Reagan National Airport prompted by nearby Army helicopter [May 2]

The Federal Aviation Administration, which is also investigating, said air traffic controllers instructed Delta flight 1671 and Republic flight 5825 “to perform go-arounds at the Reagan Washington National Airport due to a Priority Air Transport helicopter inbound to the Pentagon Army Heliport” around 2:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.

“It appears the Blackhawk operation did not proceed directly to the Pentagon Heliport,” said a preliminary FAA report shared with members of Congress. “Instead that took a scenic route around the Pentagon versus proceeding directly from the west to the heliport.”

Helicopter pilots never heard command to pass behind jet, NTSB investigators say in DC crash hearing

Roughly 15 seconds before the collision, the controller asked the Black Hawk if it had the jet in sight as it was on approach to land. Three seconds later, the controller instructed the helicopter to pass behind the airliner, but the helicopter crew had keyed its microphone at the same time as the controller and never heard the instruction, according to the Black Hawk's flight recorder.
It's wild to me that there are still systems that can't do full duplex communication. (Facetime can't, either)

NTSB blames 'deep' systemic failures for deadly midair collision near Washington, D.C.

Lots of blame to go around...

But the chair of the NTSB reserved her harshest criticism for regulators at the Federal Aviation Administration.

"It's one failure after another," Homendy told reporters during a break. The FAA had collected reports of more than 80 serious close calls in recent years between helicopters and passenger aircraft, Homendy says, but the NTSB was the first to draw attention to those conflicts.

Investigators say air traffic controllers at the local tower at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport had repeatedly raised concerns to the FAA about a lack of adequate separation between helicopter traffic along the Potomac River and the approach to Runway 33, where American Airlines Flight 5342 was attempting to land.

The NTSB's final report, stretching to more than 500 pages, is expected in a few weeks.
