  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Italian diocese of Ventimiglia-San Remo has a church bell dedicated to unborn children. That doesn’t go down well with left-wing politicians.

On the Day of the Innocents

Bishop Antonio Suetta dedicated the church bell of his episcopal palace to the unborn children on December 28, 2025. On this day, the Church commemorates the mass murder of the innocent children, by Herod’s soldiers. (Math. 2:16-20.)

With the action, the bishop wants to make Italians aware of the unborn child and encourage prayer and reflection on the country’s abortion laws. The church bell bears the inscription “For all unborn children” and rings every evening at eight o’clock.

Left-wing politicians react critically to the initiative. A city councilor speaks of it as “moral propaganda” and a violation of “female self-determination.” A provincial politician states, “The diocese must question its priorities.”
