  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am grateful they are developing the wisdom to realize that upward mobility begins with voting for legislators and leaders who will give you a "hand-up," not a handout, as they climb the economic ladder. Higher minimum wages when you're in college, Pell Grants and student loans to help you finance it, and yes, birth control to help you plan to start your families when you have a little financial stability--all those are hands-up the economic ladder.

The margins of error—ranging from plus or minus 3.2 to plus or minus 3.6 percent across the five surveys—mean these movements are modest but real enough to chart a clear takeaway: Trump’s standing with low‑income Americans remains consistently underwater, even as week‑to‑week shifts move within a relatively narrow band.

Put simply, these voters are not swinging dramatically in either direction.

Their views seem to oscillate slightly depending on the moment, but the overall picture is steady: most continue to disapprove of the president’s performance, and only around one‑third express support.

Considering that he won in 2025 by 2/10th of a percent, even small changes can make a difference. That's why he wants to suppress and gerrymander the vote.
Pssst.... he isn't running again.

I’d be interested in the income bracket of those who still cleave to Trump’s policies.

You mean the billionaires and trillionaires who are supposedly his friends and are the only ones benefitting from his presidency according to some?

Not directly an answer, but this has been floating around the intertubes recently, showing how D and R voters have shifted over time with respect to income and education. "I love the poorly educated!"

They're there, but they're the 0.01%.

Actually not what I expected.
It definitely chimes with my experience. Once upon a time, the Republicans were the white collar educated bankers, and the Democrats were the blue collar union Joe Sixpacks. George W Bush showed the Republicans how the rich can appeal to people who don't trust the elite (or book-larnin').

He wants to end elections. He will declare a national emergency in order to continue torturing Americans and wrecking democracy.

It's not junk. He talks about elections being stolen, about not having elections, and about having another term. It might be a conspiracy, but it's not junk. Some folks do conspire, and he's just the kind to do that.

He did say he's not trying to help the poor folks who don't work very hard. It's crazy how much contempt he has for the people who support him. It's like any other abusive relationship, except we all have to live in the same house.
