I am grateful they are developing the wisdom to realize that upward mobility begins with voting for legislators and leaders who will give you a "hand-up," not a handout, as they climb the economic ladder. Higher minimum wages when you're in college, Pell Grants and student loans to help you finance it, and yes, birth control to help you plan to start your families when you have a little financial stability--all those are hands-up the economic ladder.

Considering that he won in 2025 by 2/10th of a percent, even small changes can make a difference. That's why he wants to suppress and gerrymander the vote.

It definitely chimes with my experience. Once upon a time, the Republicans were the white collar educated bankers, and the Democrats were the blue collar union Joe Sixpacks. George W Bush showed the Republicans how the rich can appeal to people who don't trust the elite (or book-larnin').
