If the original hadn't been posted by White House staff ahead of time then I'd agree that ham-handed deception was at play, because those streams of tears obviously aren't real.It was not obvious. First, it's sad when it comes to such serious issues that official White House accounts are in the business of posting "memes". Second, there was no indication that the pic had been altered. Third, just because someone follows the official WH page doesn't mean they saw or followed Noem's page. She may be able to sue for them misrepresenting her. Her lawyer already said it was defamation.
They shouldn't be altering images PERIOD. If they will do it for this, they will do it for other things which means THEY CAN NOT BE TRUSTED.
