He was with a group of protesters/rioters/agitators or whatever you want to call them, and was there to interfere with federal agents doing their jobs. So yes, he could have found something better to do.
I'm glad you point out that this is a Christian forum. What does the Bible say about respecting authority? Does the policeman bear the sword for nothing?
This is pretty hypocritical when you look at the pardoned J6ers. The man had a holstered gun but it is legal. He never pulled it. He never had a chance to fight with the ICE agents. Probably all he did was hurt their 'fee-fees' and they killed him. A US citizen who was an ICU nurse and cared about how the city of Minneapolis is being treated right now.
In contrast, there were armed and violent rioters (insurrectionists) at the Capitol who actually fought with Capitol police and hurt them. 33 have been charged with crimes. Those J6er included three who were found guilty of sex crime against children (one being guilty of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12), another who charged with home invasion, others who were plotting .to kill FBI agents who investigated him and was armed, and more. Yet MAGA Republicans think of them as heroes or mistreated. They committed crimes. Alex did not!
ICE agents shouldn't murder a man because they did not like what he said or was protesting. Alex had the right of free speech, he had the right to protest. He didn't pull a gun and he did not deserve to be shot in the back. Those agents murdered him.
A lot of Republicans did not like it.
Administration officials are firm in their defense of the hard-line immigration enforcement tactics in Minneapolis and they fault Democrats in the state along with local law enforcement for not working with them.

A growing number of Republicans are pressing for a deeper investigation into federal immigration tactics in Minnesota after a U.S. Border Patrol agent fatally shot a man in Minneapolis, a sign that the Trump administration's accounting of events may face bipartisan scrutiny.
House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Andrew Garbarino sought testimony from leaders at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, saying "my top priority remains keeping Americans safe."
A host of other congressional Republicans, including Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas and Sens. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, pressed for more information. Their statements, in addition to concern expressed from several Republican governors, reflected a party struggling with how to respond to Saturday's fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse at a VA hospital.
In the immediate aftermath of Alex Pretti’s killing at the hands of federal agents on Saturday, federal officials quickly alleged the victim was guilty of domestic terrorism and offered up a version of events that appeared to contradict footage of the incident. But after widespread pushback, including from several Republicans,
President Donald Trump said his administration will be looking into Pretti’s death, and that he will send new leadership to oversee the increasingly restive scene in Minneapolis.
The killing of Pretti, a registered nurse who worked in the ICU at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, sparked outrage nationwide. Scores of elected Democrats in Minnesota and across the country called for federal agents to leave the city and for Noem’s resignation. But several Republican members of Congress have also called for an inquiry into the shooting with some even urging the actions of the Department of Homeland Security and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement be probed.
The ICE agents need to be charged with murder.
