  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Im 20 years old and recently I bought myself my first car. Its a small 1992 pickup truck. Low milege, 16km on the odo, and its in pretty good shape! I was overjoyed! My parents gave me a no-interest loan to help pay for it, which was greatly appreciated, as I didnt want to have to deal with financing through a dealership/bank loan. I got the truck and it was losing power, turns out it had a clogged fuel filter and then shortly after the battery died. Two pretty cheap and easy fixes I was able to do myself. Its been running perfect since. (last three weeks). Anyhow, I was praying, thanking God for His providance of the truck (parents helping, good condition, cheap fixes) and I got this wordless sense in my gut that said something akin to "That wasnt me/my providence" and now im confused. Ive BEEN confused, for three weeks. I dont even know how to explain it, it was this "knowing" of what was being said, there were no words attached. Was this God? Im honestly lost and I am unable to ask a christian elder irl right now.

I find the words of Romans 8:28 so helpful in facing all sorts of situations, good and bad, in life:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Ro 8:28 NKJV)

Not really an answer to your specific question, but I hope it helps generally.

Congratulations on your new aquisition, please drive it safely.

You can always pray for clarity of thought, you can tell Jesus you are worried or confused, nothing wrong with "was that You Lord?" I cannot see how you have done anything immoral or sinful, you bought a vehicle, you borrowed from family, I assume you either need it or can make good sensible use out of it. You did not get a high interest credit card and throw it's whole limit on a Ferrarri because you want to impress or intimidate others.

When we hear or believe things that we should not, they are things that will lead us to a sinful action, or to make us doubt the truth of the gospel. Probably the best ways to reinforce your protection and faith in general are study the Bible, pray, and be in contact with other believers.
