  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yup - the man assaulted armed federal agents - fired a shot and was killed - it's a shame, it didn't need to happen and perhaps God is judging him at this very moment.

It's sad - killed while defending criminals.
Except the evidence says otherwise. And yes it is sad when ICE officers murder American citizens defending the felon Donald Trump.

He was clearly not an assassin. If you have a gun do you fire from distance or rush in and be grappled. The authorities lied blatantly, why are you defending lying??

To quote Sen Whitehouse from the other week:

"I don’t think you can underestimate the importance of narrative enhancement to the Maga movement. They will lie their way through very obvious facts to protect a narrative.”

Not according to your leadership. They are on record without evidence declaring him to be an assassin wielding a gun to cause a massacre. All blatant lies.

Kristi Noam said it well. Who goes to a peaceful protest with a gun rather than a sign. No matter how some try to demonize the agents and justify the protester, he involved himself in the interaction with the agent and the woman who ignored their commands. Video clearly shows his poor decisions to interfere with law enforcement and he violently resisted arrest while being armed himself. That is a recipe for disaster which resulted in his death. His poor choices caused his own demise. Case closed , this will in the end be found to be a justified shoot. Sad it had to happen but his choice caused it. The governor and mayor have responsibility by stoking these protests. Probably to deflect from their own corruption.

Affidavit from witness

The man stayed in the street, filming as the other observers I mentioned earlier werebeing forced backward by another ICE agent threatening them with pepper spray. The man went closer to support them as they got threatened, just with his cameraout. I didn't see him reach for or hold a gun.11. Then the ICE agent shoved one of the other observers to the ground. Then he startedpepper spraying all three of them directly in the face and all over. The man with thephone put his hands above his head and the agent sprayed him again and pushedhim.12. Then the man tried to help up the woman the ICE agent had shoved to the ground. The ICE agents just kept spraying. More agents came over and grabbed the manwho was still trying to help the woman get up. All three of the observers looked tohave been badly affected by the pepper spray. I could feel the pepper spray in myeyes

The agents pulled the man on the ground. I didn't see him touch any of them-hewasn't even turned toward them. It didn't look like he was trying to resist, just tryingto help the woman up. I didn't see him with a gun. They threw him to the ground.Four or five agents had him on the ground and they just started shooting him. Theyshot him so many times.14. I don't know why they shot him. He was only helping. I was five feet from him andthey just shot him.15. The video I recorded of what happened accurately depicts the events leading up tothe agents shooting him and several minutes afterwards. The video is attached asExhibit 1.16. I have read the statement from DHS about what happened and it is wrong. The mandid not approach the agents with a gun. He approached them with a camera. He wasjust trying to help a woman get up and they took him to the ground.17. I feel afraid. Only hours have passed since they shot a man right in front me and Idon't feel like I can go home because I heard agents were looking for me. I don'tknow what the agents will do when they find me. I do know that they're not tellingthe truth about what happened. I've heard that other witnesses might have beenarrested and taken to the Whipple Building.18. I am disgusted and gutted at how they are treating my neighbors and my state

I declare under penalty of perjury that everything I have stated in this document is trueand correct

There is a video where a guy posts his theory that when the agent took the gun from the victims holster that the gun went off causing everyone to jump back and shoot. That had crossed my mind also. Plus the video online where they are frantically searching the body and asking where's the gun.
Their best defense seems to be incompetence.
According to the letter Bondi sent, all MN has to do is hand over the sensitive data of its citizens and ICE will go away quietly. So much for a national immigrant crime wave.
Of course, it was never about immigrants but "the enemy within".

Lucky....?

What was Alex Pretti's offense?
Not sure yet, but the federal agents were very much closer to what happened than the camera was, so I'm sure they saw something we don't.

And yes, the woman was lucky to only be shoved after what she did. As you already know, some people are getting a lot worse than that. These agitators ought to find something better to do than pick fights with armed federal agents who are trying to do their job.

None of this rambling addresses the point that I made. Someone possessing a gun is not a reason for federal agents to attack and kill them, unless it was drawn and/or threats were made with it. He had a permit to carry the gun. None of the videos show anything which indicates that his behavior was threatening.

Your previous post stating that "perhaps being a nurse and healing people wasn't enough for him, so he picked up a high capacity assault pistol and picked a fight with federal law enforcement officers doing their job" is about one of the most disrespectful comments I can imagine from a staff member on a Christian forum who is speaking about someone who was violently killed. All the video evidence thus far shows the agents being the aggressors, so you fabricate a false narrative that he went looking for trouble when there is absolutely nothing so far which shows that.
He was with a group of protesters/rioters/agitators or whatever you want to call them, and was there to interfere with federal agents doing their jobs. So yes, he could have found something better to do.

I'm glad you point out that this is a Christian forum. What does the Bible say about respecting authority? Does the policeman bear the sword for nothing?

He didn't ever fire a shot, did he?

This analysis shows him to be unarmed when the first shot is fired.

Being shot dead is not "playing" the victim.
No, they aren't playing the victim. It's those who go online to speak in their place who do that for them. It helps fuel the appetite of others who want to go out and harass authority figures because it makes them feel important. It gives them videos to put on Youtube in hopes of "going viral". Maybe even helps them To feel justified when they go out and commit acts of public violence.
We already saw that during the BLM riots. The same people that started that seemed to be trying to start that up once again. All it did the first time was make the founders of BLM rich with multiple multi-million dollar mansions. But maybe the second time will be better (?)
