CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pretty much the same thing. "Yes he had a permit to carry the weapon, but he was asking to be shot by doing it."

Mac Randolph said in a Facebook post that Perrti treated his father at the VA. He posted a video on his Facebook page showing the nurse giving the final salute at the VA after his father passed away in 2024.
"Today we remember that freedom is not free. We have to work at it, nurture it, protect it and even sacrifice for it," Pretti says in the video. "We may never forget and always remember our brothers and sisters who have served so that we may enjoy the gift of freedom."
Randolph said in his post: "Never wanted to share this video but his speech is very on point. Also my Fathers final words to me was continue to fight the good fight. He would be honored in Alex’ sacrifice, and ashamed of this current administration."

If he had no ID on him, then yes, he was not carrying legally. Again, that is irrelevant.
How so? It's not like leaving your ID at home makes you invisible or unidentifiable. Given how quickly he was identified, this is also a red herring.
Maybe he forgot his wallet? Maybe he was under the impression that not having an ID on him would make it harder for him to be charged if he was arrested? Maybe he did have his ID and whoever told you he didn't is lying to you?

And just like that having a holstered firearm in public goes from a patriot exercising their rights to a potential mass killer. So long as they were killed by a federal agent.

Remember: Ashley Babbit was a hero and a patriot and the guys at the Bundy ranch were merely defending a poor, set upon rancher trying to survive under an incresingly oppressive federal bureaucracy.

The video clearly shows him being disarmed and then shot multiple times. I don’t know what else you need. It seems like some of you will just continue to give this government the benefit of the doubt while they are executing citizens exercising their rights.

Except that those in charge of said investigations are already within hours of the event blatantly lying claiming he was intent on a massacre and was wielding a gun. There is no possibility whatsoever of an unbiased investigation.

Speculation. Why would someone approach federal law enforcement with a gun in the first place (especially in a hostile environment) then resist arrest and fight against these agents?

Why would you expect that out of these people?
People need to stop supporting the people doing things they don’t like. That would go a very long way to show they don’t actually support when these government elected officials do and say things like this.

Who suggested that?
The last image we have is one of the federal agents with the weapon in his hand. What happened after that is anyone's guess. DHS publishes a photo of a gun on a car seat. Is that the weapon? Whose vehicle is that?
As a former LEO, I expect you would understand the need to secure the scene and to gather evidence professionally.
