  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

By my count there are only two references to a specific party in this video . Both only identify the party Richard Lamm is a part of. To avoid offending anyone and violating forum rules I will leave it to the viewers to determine who is carrying out this plan. This is vital information that must be heard to understand why we as a country are in the position we are in today. Arguably each point expressed by The former Governor is in full operation today. It is my sincere goal to comply with all forum rules by not pointing out the obvious truths. God bless the USA!

I hate to point this out to you but for some reason this governor's speech is seeing the light of day because he was a proponent of anti- multiculturalism. A severe departure from a Christian world view and borderlines white supremacy. A very far right radical view.

Defined:
Anti-multiculturalism is a political and social stance that opposes the ideology or policy of multiculturalism—the idea that diverse ethnic, religious, and cultural groups should maintain their distinct identities within a single society. Critics of multiculturalism argue that this approach prioritizes group differences over national unity, leading to social fragmentation and the erosion of a shared national identity.

It is seeing the light of day because points 1 through 7 are in full operation. I’ll let you determine who is actually promoting it so as not to be accused of flaming a particular group. You seem to be diverting the source just a bit. So you ascribe this to the far right? Got it!

You know that Lamm wasn't advocating these positions, right? He was presenting all of these things as bad, that letting them progress would destroy America. He may have been a Democrat, but he was a Democrat of the mid-20th century before the two parties sorted into their current lib/conservative groupings. Also, he bolted to the Reform Party in 1996.

The only thing this speech shows is that a lot of right-wing propaganda hasn't evolved in decades. What I've never seen any of the anti-immigration/anti-muliculturalism folks explain is why the most vibrant regions of our country are also the most diverse. It's the urban areas where most of the commerce, culture, and discovery happens - the areas that ought to be being destroyed by the diversity they embrace continue to outperform the homogenous small towns.

1 . We must make America a bi - lingual country. 2. Invent multiculturalism and encourage immigrants to maintain their own culture. 3. Celebrate diversity rather than unity. 4. Make the fastest growing demographic group the least educated. 5. Get foundations and big business to donate to these causes. 6. Establish duel citizenships and promote duel loyalties 7. Place all of these subjects off limits use words like racist to hinder free discussion These are just a summary of Richard Lamm’s plan to steal American. By any reasonable analysis we are well into all seven. The instability we are currently experiencing as a nation is evidence of the success of the plan.

What you fail to explain is why all of Lamm’s 7 points are in full implementation.

Is Minnesota the shining example of your claim?

That may be partially true at the time. His speech was many years ago. The problem here is somebody took him serious and the plan has been implemented.

Those things were already happening when he made that speech. That's why he included them.

It'd be like if I said, "My plan to undermine evangelicalism and destroy the Republican party is to convince them to blindly follow an unabashedly unChristian and corrupt authoritarian who fills his cabinet with a bunch of wildly unqualified sycophants."

Neither his "plan" nor mine were actual plans. They're rhetorical devices intended to highlight the dangers of things already taking place. He made his speech in 2004 ; none of this stuff was new then. Rush Limbaugh, for example, had already been crowing about all of it for at least 10 years by that point.

If you think this was an actual plan, you're completely misunderstanding both his point and the context in which he was making it.

Is Minnesota the shining example of your claim?

Yeah. Their per capita GDP is a bit above the national average and higher than most red states. Their violent crime rates are well below the national average. Their educational attainment rates are well above average. What other metrics should I look up?

Maybe you should investigate why that is the case and who is behind it! I will eagerly await your expert analysis on that.

Who is behind what? Embracing multiculturalism?

Organized riotous law enforcement interference in the streets !

I guess the Capitol steps aren't technically "the street." And this was DC, so I guess it still counts as "blue state bad".

Why is so many regress to Jan 6 to justify the chaos in Minnesota?

All of those things you claim were already happening.

Society was embracing them because appreciating peoples' backgrounds is a nice thing to do.

What's more recent, and more salient at the time of this speech, is that that consideration had finally been extended to groups other than whites of European descent. It was already acceptable for us white Europeans to celebrate our heritage and our religions and tie our identities to them, but it was considered "identity politics" to afford other groups the same courtesy.

Why is so many regress to Jan 6 to justify the chaos in Minnesota?
Who's justifying anything? You asked me to look up stats on organized protests against police (which, I'm sure you know is a nonsensical request). I provided an example of how Minnesota is hardly alone.
