  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

ABSTARCT:
Pascal's Wager proved God. Pascal's Wager
explained Matthew 22 from the Bible.

ARTICLE, CALCULATIONS:
The chance that a theist of any religion will go to hell is A.
The chance that he will go to Heaven is B.
The chance that he will rot without a trace is D.
The sum of A + B + D = 100%.

The chance that an atheist of any kind will go to hell is T.
The chance that he will go to Heaven is 0.
The chance that he will rot without a trace is D.
The sum of T + D = 100%.
A = 100 - B - D.
T = 100 - D.

CONCLUSIONS
Therefore, A is less than T. Whether God exists or not, whether a theist is good
or not (" So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they
could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests."
Matthew 22), but an atheist, who can be as good as he likes, has a greater chance of going to hell.
("But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was
not wearing wedding clothes." Matthew 22)
Therefore, there is a God who dislikes atheism.

Indeed, therefore we should pray for God to have mercy on them, and on us, if we lapse.

By the way as I said in another post, I really admire the Estonian Orthodox for holding fast in a predominantly secular country.

The Parable of the Wedding Banquet

22 Once more Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying: 2 “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son. 3 He sent his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding banquet, but they would not come. 4 Again he sent other slaves, saying, ‘Tell those who have been invited: Look, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready; come to the wedding banquet.’ 5 But they made light of it and went away, one to his farm, another to his business, 6 while the rest seized his slaves, mistreated them, and killed them. 7 The king was enraged. He sent his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. 8 Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding is ready, but those invited were not worthy. 9 Go therefore into the main streets, and invite everyone you find to the wedding banquet.’ 10 Those slaves went out into the streets and gathered all whom they found, both good and bad; so the wedding hall was filled with guests.

11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing a wedding robe, 12 and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding robe?’ And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.”

The banquet is the kingdom of God/heaven.
The king is God the Father.
His son is Jesus Christ.
The original invited guests are the unbelieving Jews.
The slaves are God's prophets.
Everyone else are the Gentiles.
The man without the wedding robe was a Gentile who disrespected the king and his son. When he was called, he wasn't found worthy to attend. 1 Thessalonians 2:12

Jesus warns the unbelieving Jews:

Matthew 21:43
Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that produces the fruits of the kingdom.

Revelation 19:9
And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.”
