  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

'Head-shaking anger': Afghanistan veteran tells GB News https://www.gbnews.com/politics/us/ - "Mr Fox spent six months working with an American special forces unit and was later awarded a Combat Infantryman Badge, a US Army decoration awarded to troops engaging in active-ground combat. Alongside his extensive time spent in Afghanistan, the soldier fought alongside Danes, Estonians, Czechs, the Dutch, as well as Australians and Canadians."

Sir Keir Starmer loses patience with Donald Trump Angry Sir Keir Starmer loses patience with Donald Trump over 'insulting' NATO troops remarks - "Mr Trump's increasingly erratic and outlandish behaviour has left Sir Keir with no other option than to shift away from an approach of 'Trump containment' to calling him out. In other circumstances, a prime minister who has made a great play of Trump management only to see relations sour so badly could be in the firing line. Where he has cover is in the universal condemnation of Mr Trump from all political leaders. If anything, Sir Keir will come under more pressure to increase his hostility towards our increasingly toxic partner, the US."

Administration says it’s doing a great job on its own website, persuasive.

The socialist websites with their liberal and hate America/Trump agenda cannot be trusted to be truthful if it's raining outside.

Amazing even when I agree with the OP and say that he’s doing something wrong, someone has to complain that I’m not taking it far enough.

You guys just are too much
amazing, you post complaining about not showing respect to someone whose career has been about being as rude and disrespectful as possible. I know this is a foreign concept for some people, but respect isn't deserved, it's earned, and he has done nothing to earn my respect, heck being Canadian his constant threats, insults, mocking by him and his administration have earned everything but my respect. But then again acording trump were all nasty for not putting up with your attacks, so maybe I just don't know better.

He's constantly done exactly what you were just accusing others of now doing. With well over a hundred and fifty examples. Heaven knows how many times he's actually used these terms. Did we hear a peep from anyone how unpresidential this was? How childish? How embarrassing it was for the guy in the WH to resort to playground epithets? How demeaning it was? Good grief, I mean this very forum will justifiably warn you about using the type of language that he uses on a daily basis.

Nah, of course we didn't. Not a peep. Hey, it was just Trump being Trump! Saying it like it is! Speaking his mind! I mean, gee...it's why you voted for him!

Now, just because you've agreed that his monstrously despicable comments about my nation's war dead, by a man whose only fight was to avoid fighting, are indeed reprehensible then you get a free pass to complain when someone does exactly what he has done literally hundreds of times?

Look, my friend. This wasn't a one off aberration. This wasn't a slip of the lip after a couple of beers or a bad joke followed by an immediate and heartfelt apology to everyone who has lost a loved one in combat helping out the US in multiple theatres of war. This represents the man. This is who he is. This sums him up.

And now you might notice that he has walked back his comment regarding UK service men and women, but only after a direct phone call from the UK Prime Minister. Not an apology. Oh no, you'll not get an apology. And he'll say nothing about Australians, or Norwegians or French or Germans or anyone else because he hasn't had a call from them yet. I mean, does everyone have to call him and demand he retract his comments before he offers some meaningless platitudes?

The man is beneath contempt. That is undeniable. What those people who support him do with that fact is up to them and their conscience.

Five times you made it about a complaint against a poster.

Five times you went after a poster personally

Five times you ignored this rule:

When you Disagree:

Members who participate in the American Politics forum are expected to treat one another with courtesy and respect at all times, ESPECIALLY when you disagree with each other.
  • When you disagree, address the context of the post and not the poster.
  • When you disagree with someone's position, you should post evidence and supporting statements for your position. This policy, sometimes referred to as "X means Y because of Z", must be followed especially when posting claims that are widely considered to be controversial.
  • When you disagree and you find yourself becoming frustrated and angry, step away from the computer and give yourself time to cool down.

Absolute bulldust, my friend. I'd only actually made 4 posts up to that point. And the only time I referenced you was in the last which was to point out that it was you that was complaining about a poster (breaking the rules according to you) using so-called derogatory terms when your president has done much worse hundreds of times.

Do we see that called out by anyone at all? No, we don't. And if you don't want to address that, then that is entirely up to you.

I highlighted in RED What I was referring to - anyone with a color monitor can see that.

How on earth does it help prove a point that the President was rude and disrespectful - by being equally rude and disrespectful?
The part above where they referenced Trump's narcissism isn't rudeness. Hundreds of psychiatrists with thousands of hours of footage to study signed a joint public letter against electing Donald Trump because of his Malignant Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Reminder: Carney stood up and called America for what it is, and NATO sent troops into Greenland, and 24 hours later Trump had to completely back down on his military threats on Greenland.

I was waiting for something like this petulant tanty. Weren't you?

Also, this President has never behaved in a statesman like manner. He cannot. He is a failed businessman who got bailed out by daddy to the tune of a quarter of a billion dollars on one occasion.

But - most importantly - he has an incurable personality disorder. It's time for the 25th.

This isn't about petty matters of raising children to behave properly - and teaching them about name calling and manners. This is about international security.

So while I applaud your honesty in saying he crossed the line - you've yet to acknowledge how dangerous it is to have someone like this in the highest office of your land!

Exactly! That's why we need a strong leader like Trump now! I'm glad he's bold enough to move on Greenland, otherwise Russia might and then - unthinkable horror - Russia and the USA would be neighbours!

Oh wait...

And the context of the post was about you complaining about a forum member using derogatory terms. And me comparing that to the many hundreds of times your president has done the very same thing, with no complaints whatsoever from anyone in this forum from his side of the political divide.

Maybe you could comment directly on that.

I think he was trying to convey that you shouldn’t criticize someone for doing something and then do the same thing yourself

I think the point being made was equally obvious. How come it's fair game to criticise someone for using a mildly sarcastic term when nobody, and I really mean nobody from the right of politics on this forum has criticised Trump for doing much, much worse. Hundreds of times. It's all been met with a deathly silence.

Why isn't he called out every time he does it?

I have criticized him but doing it every time he puts his foot in his mouth would be a full time job . He already has plenty of critics, many who criticize him regardless of what he does

Well, it's a full time job pointing out the stupid things he does and says as well. Not including the lies. But c'mon, at what point where it's going on constantly do you say 'enough is enough'? It's not viable to say 'Well, I can't criticise him all the time because it happens too frequently and I just can't keep up'.

That's just...crazy.
