Gracious Heavenly Father,
Although he has not chosen to share details, I pray for wisdom for this man, who is in a toxic and abusive relationship. First, I pray that You would show him that You love him, and that You have placed Ephesians 4:32 in the Bible for a reason. Remind him that he is a new creation in You, that he is worthy of love and respect and kindness as Your Son.
Second, I pray for this woman on the other side of this marriage. If she does not know You, I pray for her to come to a saving faith and knowledge of the Gospel. If she does know you, I pray that you would remind her husband that she deserves Christian love as Your daughter - but, if there was abuse, that does not mean re-extending trust and inviting further punishment. Instead, help her husband to enforce negative consequences for the abuse so that she may stop abusing her husband and his love and care for her. Likewise, I pray for wisdom and Godly counsel for her, that she may enforce any negative consequences for any abuse she has suffered, but only according to Your wisdom and not according to any false narratives the devil and the flesh may tell her. Help them to be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves, to root out the evil the flesh and the devil have placed in their hearts.
Finally, I pray for wisdom for them as to whether they need to separate for a time, for their own safety and to allow them to recover from the emotional, physical, and/or financial damage they have suffered. Please send people into their lives who will be able to help with this situation. I lift this up to You for restoration. Please guide them out of toxicity and abuse as You have guided me, and help them to win this nightmarish spiritual battle. And send the hosts to protect them, Lord Jesus, please!
