  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have met for bilateral talks in Davos on Thursday, Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne reported, citing Zelensky spokesman Serhii Nykyforov.
Trump had announced on Wednesday that he would meet Zelensky in the Swiss alpine resort as part of his efforts to end the near four-year war in Ukraine.
Trump said he believed Ukraine and Russia were "reasonably close" to a peace deal, saying the sides would be "stupid" not to reach an agreement.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hailed a "productive and substantive" meeting with President Donald Trump at the annual World Economic Forum gathering in Davos and said he had asked for another package of air defense missiles.
The two leaders stayed off camera, and there was no photo op or questions taken. They met for around an hour.
Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner head to Moscow on Thursday to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin. Witkoff had earlier said the Russia-Ukraine peace talks were "down to one issue" and that he saw it as "solvable," expressing optimism about ending the war.

Given the widely reported stories of Trump's mental decline, and the increasing numbers of Republicans who--if not seeing the truth for the first time--are gaining the courage to concur, Zelensky would be wise to wait out Trump's inevitable demise and get a better "deal" from a more responsible replacement.

I hate what this brave hero has been put through, but I have also seen time after time where Trump hurts the good and rewards the evil.

Just two weeks ago he pardoned my (area's) Congressman's son, serving 8 years for selling meth. I tried to forgive him, because this week the Congressman's wife died. It is possible, if improbable, that Trump pardoned him so his mother would be able to see him, and know he had been released. More likely, he wanted insurance that this Congressman, who has had minor differences with Trump on financial issues, would fall into lockstep with him.

Given the widely reported stories of Trump's mental decline,
Only among the left and people who want him out
and the increasing numbers of Republicans who--if not seeing the truth for the first time--are gaining the courage to concur,
His approval ratings with Republicans remains at 89%

Like Joe Biden who did nothing and they died by the thousands?
I hate what this brave hero has been put through, but I have also seen time after time where Trump hurts the good and rewards the evil.
Totally false and biased in nature

Because some are not able to say or see anything Trump does as good or right.

Maybe if you read Rasmussen only?

Latest Presidential job approval ratings surveys results with registered Republicans

Emerson (17-19 Jan): 87%
RMG Research (12-18 Jan): 91%
NYT/Sienna (12-17 Jan): 73%
Emerson (14-16 Jan): 86%
AP-NORC (14 Jan): 81%
Quinnipac (second week Jan 2026): 81%
Marist Poll (12-13 Jan): 86%

If you remove outliers like NYT/Sienna and RMG, then it averages out to about 83%

I guess security agreements are in now, and land concessions???

Zelensky had a few words for the EU leaders who have their brains in the metaverse.

Despite Trump’s limited and scattershot support for Ukraine since taking office one year ago, Zelenskyy focused instead on Europe’s role in the conflict, accusing the continent’s leaders of complacency and inaction.

“Just last year, here in Davos, I ended my speech with the words ‘Europe needs to know how to defend itself’,” Zelenskyy said. “A year has passed, and nothing has changed.”

Zelenskyy said: “Everyone gave attention to Greenland, and it is clear most leaders are not sure what to do about it. It seems like everyone is just waiting for America to cool down on this topic, hoping it will pass away. But what if it [does] not: what then?”

(The virtue signal is a waste of money. This was so dumb!)

Zelenskyy said: “Sending 14 or 40 soldiers to Greenland – what is that meant to achieve? What message does that send to Putin? To China? And perhaps, most importantly, what message does it send to Denmark?”

(This is why EU leaders are boisterous in speech, because they have Big Brother behind them.)

“Today, Europe relies only on the belief that if danger comes, then Nato will react. But no one has really seen the alliance in action. If Putin decides to take Lithuania or strike Poland, who will respond? Right now, Nato exists thanks to the belief that the United States will act … but what if it doesn’t?”
