  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Secretary of NATO, as well as the nations in the 8 peace deals that President Trump made, strongly disagree with the assertions of the anti-Trump people that President Trump has ruined foreign relationships.
....you know those 8 peace deals are fake right? Some are so fake they are laughable, others are still at war.

I think some anti-Trump people are attempting to use intimidation as a means for leverage.

Since I refuse to watch those videos, I'm just going to go by the thumbnails and assume that the point you are trying to make is "we can kill you, so we don't actually need you and you should be grateful to exist under our sufferance."

To which I reply with this:

French-Monty-Python-Holy-Grail-French-taunt-240x300.jpg

And this is much more dignified than what you deserve for such a sentiment.

Yeah, and words have consequences.
Consequences... I mean yeah, if you want to see things negatively. Personally, I prefer not to hold perspectives rooted in negativity.

I'm willing to poke around and find the nuggets of goodness in unexpected places.

Well, if you actually watched the videos, you would find that the U.S. does not need NATO for anything. They actually desperately need us. Otherwise, their entire system crumbles. Which is why the reasonable nations are willing to work with Trump. Heck, at the WEF, he pretty much looked at the room and said, "Everyone here has either been liberated by, or defeated by, the United States." For the sake of globalism, you are now too weak to even protect your own backyard. Now, once again, we have to play your bodyguard. But it won't be free, nor will it be cheap. So give us Greenland, and we will take care of the rest, so you can continue to flaunt your social programs because we are flipping the bill for your defense."

Yes, consequences. Markets were tanking, again, and USAs traditional allies have lost fundamental trust in the nation as a whole that is not coming back anytime soon. You have literally gained nothing with this method that you couldn't have otherwise. But you've certainly lost things you otherwise wouldn't have.

Why does he have to be such a jerk?
Because for decades, the world has taken kindness for weakness. And the U.S. nolonger cares about what Europe thinks when their heads are shoved so far up their "blessings not curses" that they can no longer recognize that they are their own worst enemy.

No. It wasn't threatening at all. But, you appear to actually hate Trump so you ain't going to admit something that contradicted your narrative.
They are just repeating what the media told them to think.

What is being done, it's a shame, I know - the tens of thousands that have been exterminated by Trump.

...World war 3 is the only logical solution to stop this madness!
Forgive me, but what the heck are you talking about?

Well, they're acting like Trump committed another Holocaust, when all he did was talk.

Lol, "the whole world is not coming back anytime soon" one poster says... Give me a break people, how dramatic!

So...you now know that he's ruled it out. Meaning that you agree that it was at one point an option that he said he had.
Well, he has always been about keeping all cards on the table. Even if a forceful invasion is a card that is far removed from the stack in case of an emergency. The problem is that our European allies are so weak that just having that card still on the table causes them to crumble and concede. Why? Because they brought ir on themselves.

Complete liberal emotional hyperbole intended to radicalize their voting base. Completely void of actual facts. Mark my words, if Greenland becomes a U.S. state, there would be no bloodshed except by the hardened leftist playing the "useful idiots" in their attempt to oppose Trump.

He threatened tariffs.
And then backed down on that threat. You know this as a fact.
So where is all this nonsense about ground forces coming from other than the liberal talking hands in the media that are programming you?
He said he'd take Greenland by any means. And when asked, he refused to rule out using force. So it has been an option.

Why on earth are you denying this? It's common knowledge. It's not opinion, it's the facts of the matter. Why on earth do you think that people were concerned about the possibility of the end of NATO? What purpose does it serve you to deny all this? I really can't understand what you are doing.

This is just crazy....

You just posted asking where all this talk about ground forces was coming from. After previously admitting that he'd ruled it out, thereby conceding that it needed to be an option in order to rule it out!

Now, literally referring to that option, you again admit he's been keeping all cards on the table, 'in case of an emergency'. So where is all this talk about it coming from? Well, you are reading the same news as I am, because you knew it was an option. So you already know that.

And what in heaven's name are you on about saying that your allies 'crumble and concede'? What allies have crumbled? Which ones have conceded? And what have they conceded? Trump has only spoken to a NATO leader about what Trump describes as 'a concept of a plan'. You have literally no idea what he's talking about and I strongly suggest that he doesn't either.

But what has crumbled is Trump's veiled threat to use force. What has been conceded is his threatened tariffs.

He no longer felt the threat was necessary because the threat accomplished what he wanted, a seat at the negotiation table. The texts from the PM of Finland proved it and even Italy is willing to help facilitate it. So who actually backed down?

Your anti-Trump analysis is wrong.
If Trump splits NATO by annexing Greenland, then he loses the current NATO advantages in the Atlantic gap. He can attempt to counter this by deploying extra naval assets to make up for the lost NATO assets but these would no longer have the land anchors of UK and Norway thus America will be more vulnerable. Thus he opens an alternate route to the one from Greenland for an attack on the USA and increases the cost of US defence at the same time. Building Golden Dome, with Greenland as a part of it, will not counter the threat of a Tsunami bomb in the North Atlantic. Your just saying no does not refute this fact and is a matter of wishful thinking.

The POTUS has had a seat at the negotiating table since the end of WW2.

And facilitate what?
