  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tuesday’s transfer included figures from the Sinaloa Cartel, the Beltrán-Leyva cartel, Jalisco New Generation Cartel, the Northeast Cartel, a remnant of the infamous Zetas based in the Mexican border state of Tamaulipas, across from Texas. Mexican authorities said that all had pending U.S. cases.
Americans should be pleased with the cooperation. What a difference in U.S. administrations!

Mexico has been extraditing Cartel members to the U.S. for some time. For example, from 2019-2023, 65 cartel members were transferred to the US for prosecution.

And of course, one former President of Honduras.....who was convicted to some 40 years in prison, only to be given a get out of jail card by one Donald J Trump!

Yes, and already 92 cartel or high ranking figures since President Trump put the pressure on Mexico!

The rest of the story.....
This article overlooked the simple fact that the United States has had an extradition agreement with Mexico since 1978. For example the Biden administration requested and received twice as many per year ( around 65-70 criminals) in his administration. I would say the Trump administration is going in the opposite direction, only 30?
It is clear that this administration does not want to spend the money to extradite, house, try and subsequently incarcerate these individuals. Instead, Trump has decided to pardon such criminals from our system.
Let us reason. Please.

lol, these guys are being used to pay respects to the biggest cartel boss in the hemisphere. They will sacrifice a few low level guys to "American Justice" and a cut of their drug profits in exchange for the current administration looking the other way. All just a huge scam and grift. This administration cares nothing about drugs in this country. Just how he can personally profit from it. Look at the pardons.

.,...a deposit in a Qatari account and a call to one of Trump's besties should do it.

I wouldn't pat yourself on the back just yet. These extraditions were done under duress and are not constitutional in both countries. No due process. Just because this administration sped things up doesn't mean that at the end of Trump's term the numbers will be lower because he chose to pardon them.

* Juan Orlando Hernández (2025): Convicted for using the Honduran government to protect the Sinaloa Cartel while smuggling over 400 tons of cocaine.
* **Garnett Gilbert Smith (2025): Described by the DEA as one of the largest cocaine and heroin dealers in recent history, operating a multimillion-dollar narcotics empire.
* Edward and Joe Sotelo (2025): Convicted as "cocaine kingpins" for running a major drug distribution network.
* Ross Ulbricht (2025): Created the Silk Road, which facilitated hundreds of millions of dollars in untraceable drug sales globally.
* Alice Marie Johnson (2020): Convicted for her role in a large-scale, multi-state cocaine distribution ring.

Trump knows what he's doing. He fights drug dealers and releases drug dealers. He is going to take Greenland and not going take Greenland. He's going to give citizens $2,000 and not going to give citizens $2,000. People say TACO, and some think he's corrupt, but they just don't understand the art of the deal. It's very sophisticated, and we shouldn't assume we could understand.
