Yes, Europe can choose embargos instead of tariffs as a retaliatory move. Instead of helping Europe like US tarrifs on Europe, export restrictions would greatly hurt Europe (as well as the US). There is no need for Europe to do this. Increased tariffs on selected goods are more likely. Because of our TACO policy, Europe is likely to wait to impose these tariffs until after Feb 1.

we would if trump continues to threaten, and probably a good idea anyway, we will need our own potash at some point. Trump keeps threatening canada and Nato, so at that point the US no longer be a trading partner.

You do know that the US tariffs hurt the US and in no way helps them....if you don't get that then no point in talking as you don't understand economics 101, and just accept trumpanomics.

I well understand that US tariffs hurt the US economy and HELP the economies of the rest of the world. This especially true for Canda and Mexico which have important exclusions.

yeah, but that only does so much if trump continues his threats, Canada is ready to go to war with the US if we have to over greenland. You guys may be cowed by trumps threats, the rest of the world isn't.

How it was actually an insult to the US as well as Greenland. Maybe mention the concepts of sovereignity and self determination. Perhaps bring up Ukraine.
