The necessity of troops and martial law is to control the upcoming elections - if there is a major power shift, there are many who will be impeached, not just the one. The truly lawless may be brought to task.

Perhaps the Epstein files will be at last released.

Which is why I see a fair election with Trump getting his rightful 3rd term and a total Republican landslide with no more hate America opposition.

The president is in great health, perfect health. He has more CT scans, MRIs, and cognitive tests than any other president ever and that proves he has incredible health.

The state absolutely has a right to do NOTHING to assist ICE, including telling LE not to respond when citizens are doing what they are doing. That's fine. However the federal governemnt does not have to stand by and do nothing while their agents are harassed, interfered with, obstructed, assaulted and their property damaged and stolen.

Did you think the states can just opt out of whatever federal laws they wanted to opt out of?

The Federal Government can certainly try to force compliance.
If the Federal Government desires to make war on a State, it certainly has the power, (if not the will), to do so.
Why might that not be “good thing”?

Absolutely. Should the Feds come in and start enforcing Marijuana laws they most certainly could. A state can say its not illegal by state law. They cannot say its not illegal by Federal law. They don't have to enforce Federal Law. But they cannot stop the Feds from doing so.

All compliance is compliance by force. The IRS forces you to be compliant. Thats why policing is called Law Enforcement.

In this case the state is more than welcome to not assist in any fashion. I believe when a state does that, then the Feds are under no obligation to give them certain federal monies.

Courts certainly have ruled that states have no jurisdiction to enforce federal law. However failing to cooperate with feds and work together brings consequences. And that is what is happening.
