  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob graciously gave the Law of Moses in order to teach us how know Him by embodying His character traits. For example, the Law of Moses teaches us how to be holy as God is holy (1 Peter 1:16, Leviticus 11:44-45). The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact likeness of His character (Hebrews 1:3), which he embodied through his works by setting a sinless example for us to follow of how to walk in obedience to the Law of Moses. So does the God that you believe in have the character traits that the Law of Moses was graciously given to teach us how to embody? If so, then your goal should be to know Him by embodying His character traits through following Christ's example of obedience to the Law of Moses. However, if the God that you believe in has different character traits than the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, then the God that you believe in is not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
