Maybe, but all of this is being instigated by one man. (i.e. There's only one bonehead who is making all these moves).

Trade is (according to econ 101, at least) mutually beneficial. It certainly seems to have helped the U.S. to prosper. Our economy didn't become what it is today because of protectionism.

Personally, I can see using tariffs to protect certain key industries which are essential for national security. But if you're targeting your allies with tariffs, national security obviously isn't part of the thought process.

Who can be certain of absolute verity in the stories of any news outlets. Emphases by inclusion or exclusion of parts of the story. Slight changes in words.
If the new york post article is an acurate portayal of the relationship between the native population and the gov of Denmark, I, having no reason to question the veracity of it say, off the Danes and encourage independance.

I kinda doubt that indigenous people who are unhappy with being colonized are going to be much happier with new colonizers.
