Yea, let's make a bigger target for drones to destory. As the linked article notes, it will never be built....(and that's a good thing). Maybe to appease Trump's ego, take an existing Battleship out of mothballs...paint it gold and let it parade up and down the Chesepeake Bay.
Absurd. The freedom cities inland ship yards will be churning them out fortnightly within the coming year!
What I gather is that they will have the spec sheet rather than a completed design.
LazerPig did a short video on the ships released specs so far (take them for what they are at this stage). It wasn't very impressive. Has a lot of interesting tech and if this is being used as a vessel to get more funding to develop those, in the pigs words "it's so brilliant that we know that Hegseth had nothing to do with it." Also has the issue that if it does have the power source it was currently said to have, the ship needs to choose between firing offensive weaponry, firing defensive weapon or maneuvering. Yeah, that railgun ain't firing if you're moving.
