  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The ex-father-in-law of Renee Good says he doesn't blame Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for her death, and is calling on Americans to “turn to God" at this time.

During an appearance on CNN’s “OutFront with Erin Burnett” Wednesday, Timmy Macklin Sr. reacted to the incident last week in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where his ex-daughter-in-law was shot and killed as she struck an ICE agent while driving an SUV.

“Renee was an amazing person,” he recalled. Praising Good as “full of love,” “full of joy,” and a “real gentle” and “good mother,” he lamented that sometimes, "we make bad choices." He stressed that he didn't blame Renee for what happened to her, but believes that if she had been following God, she wouldn't have put herself in that situation.

“There’s so much chaos in the whole world today and that’s why the Bible says, ‘If my people would humble themselves and seek His face and pray and turn from their wicked ways, God will hear from Heaven and forgive our sins and heal our wounds,’” he added, quoting from 2 Chronicles 7:14. “We need to turn to God and walk in the spirit of God … and let Him lead us and guide us.”

We need to turn to God and support ICE. God does not like immigrants and certainly doesn't like people getting in the way of justice, even if it means they get shot as a result. If my daughter got shot by ICE, I would be sad, but Romans 13 says we should just obey no matter what government does. God bless ICE.

well God loves everyone, but does not l want people to be illegal immigrants, especially ones that cause trouble

Who has time? Round them all up, and if a few citizens get caught up in it, let God sort them.

ILLEGAL (key word) immigrants that cause trouble (and worse) is the real issue here. I don't understand how any Americans could defend ILLEGAL immigrants who cause trouble (and worse) unless they hate America or are criminals themselves or simply out of spite for Trump.

Romans 13:1 - Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.

Not very good sarcasm.

Anarchy in the streets is not the way to change it.
I agree, ICE should calm down. But when you are given a quota, what are you gonna do? 3000 a day? That's going to be anarchy.

We wouldn’t be here if it were not for the Biden border disaster. 3000 a day are just a little over 1 million a year. Maybe we should up that “quota” to 5000 or more.
