CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Considering that Russia's Black Sea fleet is hiding in port, due to Ukraine - a country that doesn't even have a navy. And, given that their one aircraft carrier is a smoking piece of crap that has to be followed around by a tug boat, for when it breaks down. Again. It's unlikely they'll be able to mount and support an amphibious assault against Greenland, the US or Canada in the foreseeable future.

No satire here, I was saying that if Trump did what the Ayatollah is doing, it would be a good deterrent.
I knew Ukraine would be trouble for us during the foreseeable future, since G Bush, and were we prepared? It's going to take time and money to build, that's why I think Europe is doing good to take Greenland away from Trump. I am watching the Chinese rapid build, and all this won't happen till China gets stronger, and it's happening fast. How long will it take Europe to build a navy that is capable like the USA fleets? Does the EU have money to give to Ukraine and make ships? It's even harder now because of the global economic slowdown.
I wouldn't do an amphibious assault because Greenland would be hard to hold, but I would knock anti-sub/ ship infrastructure.
Not talking about the Black Sea, and yes, Russian and a host of other ships are getting blown up.

Well, no, it does not depend on "what those troops are doing."
If troops from Country A set up a base in Country B without the permission of country B, it is an invasion. Right there, that much alone is an invasion. It's not an "occupation," and that's probably where you're confused, but it is an invasion.

on a fun note, countries are building military forces in Greenland, and before anyone says again, "This is all part of trumps plans." if that was true he would have stopped the were coming for greenland nonsense, instead he keeps amping it up. In other news while trumps alienated the rest of the world and Canada, Canada has been meeting with China and it's leaders to do trade deals. Everything trump has done to supposedly make the world safter, just made the US weaker and a laughing stock.

I have read ( can't verify) that some Republicans in congress have said that if he actually goes through with invading Greenland they will vote to impeach him. Also there is a bill being drawn up in Congress to prevent any invasion of a NATO ally by the US. Sad that's where we are. But I can't believe he would actually want to go through with this, I would think he would see that it would cost Republicans the midterms(IMO) if he goes through with invading Greenland and the Repubs in Congress remain silent and the military acquiesces.
