What do you guys think about the late Michael Heiser's work?

Hello, I have a question. I've read a lot about the late Michael Heiser's work, especially the divine council, plus other things like itnerpretation. To those that have heard of him, what do you as Catholics think of his views?

It’s interesting. I admired his understanding of the culture at the time to come to a better understanding on how people of the time perceived these things. Do I agree with everything he wrote? No.

Haven’t heard of him until I looked him up. I need to look into some of his work- sounds interesting.

The whole gentile nations being under demonic control has some precedent. But I'm asking to see your point of view. Cus Heiser had a being of a theme on criticizing tradition.

Every faith and Christian denomination has a tradition. That's why I don't really like the whole Bible vs Tradition debate. the Bible IS part of our tradition. They go hand in hand.

Am I making any sense or am I rambling?

I don't know. Maybe he's curious about our perspective on it? I'm not familiar with his work.

Because Heiser disparaged some traditions, and I wanted to see the Catholic perspective on this.

Well I have my perspective. It’s just not something I think about much. There is enough to Church teaching to concentrate on. Another good place to get other’s perspectives is General Theology. I’d be curious about what @The Liturgist thinks about Heiser’s work.

I'm curious what would, say Catholics theologians and scholastics (like Thomists) think of his work.

FWIW John Walton is another scholar of the ANE who actually doesn't think the Sons of God were angels, he believes they were polytheistic (and human) kings. So there is some debate there.
