  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just saw this on my feed. Costco is selling a 5 pack of silicon freezer trays with lids. They’re just like the Souper brand but less expensive. You can get them online but the warehouse is cheaper and I wouldn’t wait if you want them.

flour and water fried in oil - whatever is on hand - that was a staple in my childhood because we were dirt poor
we called it 'pancakes' and sometimes we'd add onion but always dipped in yellow mustard

rice and sugar and butter mixed together

fried bologna sandwich or not fried

macaroni and tomato juice - add ground beef if you're feeling fancy or your pay check just came in

I wonder if they would fit in a freeze-dryer tray.

We were not poor, but we ate on the cheap sometimes.
Tomato soup with noodles or macaroni.
Chip beef and cream gravy on toast.
Tuna fish and cream gravy on toast.
To this day, I still enjoy these meals. We fed them to our kids, and they sometimes ask for these recipes when they visit. They like the big lima beans on rice, and pinto beans with cornbread and onions. If we had extra cash, we would get some ground beef and make chili with the pinto beans.

Amazon sells some that fit the trays and they’re larger.

ETA: If you don’t have a freeze drier, you can place these on a sheet pan and put them in the freezer and store the portions in vacuum sealed or ziploc bags.

Anything with marrow bone is amazing. I once found an extremely old one in the back garden. It still tasted yummy!
Do any of you think Christians will still be living in cities in the end times? And if so, do you think any of them will live off the waste of society in that time period?

I believe that the cities in the end times, starting very soon, will be very much like Sodom and Gomorrah. Get out of the cities.

Cellars are out of the question for us. I tried storing potatoes several ways; i.e., placed on a wire shelf, in a paper bag and in a cardboard box filled with shredded paper. The first ones to get soft were on the shelf while the ones in the paper bag lasted 2.5 mon before getting eyes. Anyone have a suggestion?

We have the same issue, i.e., potatoes chitting before we are ready to plant. I have some chitting now. Cannot plant them for a month or two.
