I think the reality is that opera is not super popular yet it's expensive to produce. So if opera weren't supported by wealthy donors, it wouldn't happen at all. I don't know how that translates to the deals between the opera company and the venue, but it wouldn't surprise me if the government was [clutching pearls] supporting the arts financially, and opera may be more expensive than a case of Bud Light for Kid Rock.This story was conflusing…it seems to suggested that the DJT-JFK Center needed more money from the WNO and the WNO demurred.
