  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

President Donald Trump reportedly told The New York Times that his "own morality" serves as the thing that could potentially limit his global powers -- adding that he doesn't "need international law."

As part of a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times published Thursday, Trump was asked Wednesday whether there were any limits to his global powers.

"Yeah, there is one thing. My own morality. My own mind. It’s the only thing that can stop me,” Trump reportedly said to The New York Times.

'I'm voting for a president, not a pastor.'

If I had said that here I might have got a warning for it.

Fortunately, Trump has no filter and his followers love that he says just what he's thinking.

Thankfully God has the final say. Christians too are a restraining force.

You know, I'm kinda wondering, when is God going to chime in?

...he's feeling confident after his Venezuela adventure.

While President Trump received several phone calls during our interview, he answered just two: one from Colombia’s president and one from Bret Baier, the Fox News host.

“I’ve actually agreed to an interview with The New York Times,” he told Baier. “Can you believe it?” He told Baier that he would call him back later.

Do you think it is possible he is doing it for a fund raiser?

I mean how many times have they been sued"

Trump files $15B defamation lawsuit against The New York Times

I mean that was just 90 days ago. They seem to be a glutton for punishment.
LOL, this is what his complaint is "Trump said in the lawsuit they “maliciously peddled the fact-free narrative” that television producer Mark Burnett turned Trump into a celebrity — “even though at and prior to the time of publications defendants knew that President Trump was already a mega-celebrity and an enormous success in business.”

I'm sure the NYT is shaking in their boots.

Not any more. Too much righteous approval for killing those two smugglers in the wreck of their boat. Too much righteous approval for the killing of that woman in Minneapolis. Two more in Portland tonight, I expect a thumbs up about that, too. The Christian Religion in this country has lost all moral credibility.

Trump has morals?
Yes. They might change weekly, daily, or who talked to him last, but they're there. At least for a miniscule amount of time. He makes a great MAGA Christian™

What's the issue here? A president's morality is what keeps him from pressing the nuke button.
I guess if you feel comfortable trusting the morality of a convicted felon who has been proven guilty of fraud multiple times (among other things), that's your business.

Some of us aren't quite so comfortable with that.

-- A2SG, we'd also like a little more than a person's questionable morality to be an effective guardrail.....
