CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do people hate ICE...
So let's stop enforcing the law because some people won't like it. Let's enforced the law in an intentionally overbearing and cruel fashion so when people don't like it we can accuse them of not wanting the law enforced. MAGA!

Is what she said true though? I mean, we've gotten a lot of statements before about something being something and when actual evidence turns up, we find out that what was said wasn't true.

It's absolutely bonkers to me what folks are willing to allow your country to become all because you are ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED; I get that it is comfortable to hide beind the "justice" issue, but that isn't it really. Justice in America is nebulous.
I mean, the only thinkg motivating all of this is fear. And it's the big burley fellows who are doing all the fighting....affraid of Esmerelda cleaning hotel rooms illegally.
Also, sure it could take a few hours to prove you are legally here in the us. But I bet it doesn't take anyone but an ICE agent 25 days to read a piece of paper.

Diaz Morales was arrested by ICE agents in Baltimore on Dec. 14 while she was leaving a Taco Bell with her younger sister. Her sister said Diaz Morales told the agents she was a U.S. citizen.
“Dulce Consuelo Madrigal Diaz is NOT a U.S. citizen — she is an illegal alien from Mexico,” DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement emailed to The Washington Post in December. “She did NOT provide a valid U.S. birth certificate or any evidence in support of her claim that she is a U.S. citizen.

According to her lawyers, Diaz Morales moved from the U.S. to Mexico with her family in 2009 or 2010 and returned in 2023 to escape cartel violence. They said she was stopped by immigration officers when she reentered the U.S. In January, she received a removal order from the Justice Department’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
