  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How much time per week do you think is enough to dedicating to study the Bible?

I am starting my own business in property management; I will be having my first tenant soon. I find all this to be time consuming. I will be spending 1 hour per week studying the Bible, do you think this is enough? I am 28, so I got many years to study hopefully.

I believe as long as you are able to grow in grace ( 2 Peter 3:18) whatever time you are able to apply is beneficial.

It could depend on what your goals are and which parts of the Bible you are studying.

If it is for personal study and growth, I think consistency is just as important, and maybe more important than length of time.

One verse of Scripture can be read in under a minute. Five minutes of meditation is better than none. If you could carve out five to ten minutes a day, and spend a full week, two weeks, or a month of five to ten minutes sessions on one verse or short passage and meditating on it or committing it to memory, it can be very beneficial.

If you have a one hour block of time set aside each week, then you could do a longer study or passage reading, and devote five to ten minutes the rest of the week on rereading or meditating on the key verses of the study or whatever jumps out at you or you feel you need to focus on.

You get out what you put in. One hour is way better than none. I will challenge you or anyone to try and tithe your time just one week and see if it changes your thinking. that is 2 hr and 24 minutes each day for a week. allow part of the time in prayer and part in reading the word or watching a teaching or praising God, including going to church. I took this challenge and was really blessed. I have heard of a few people that do this all the time. I am not that spiritual but trying it a week will likely expand your one hour a week timeframe.

There's Bible Verse a Day apps that can give you a verse every day. Or write a few down on a notecard & refer back to them some during the day. & what you're learning on a notecard & refer back to that thruout the day

A 'Bible Study an hour a week' would be insufficient for me. I slip too easy.

Blessings to your career.

Agree that it can even be a verse a day based on -

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Joshua 1:8 Also, Psa 1:2, 119:15,; I Tim 4:15 Meditate means to focus You would be bringing Scripture to your mind.
